I know we are all trolling with the President's Trophy crap but really there is some merit to that line of thinking. If Belarus wins Olympic gold they still don't have the best hockey team in the world, they just strung together a few wins at the right time. Sounds pretty lame coming from a Canucks fan but the SC playoffs are a crap shoot

I agree. This naming the champion based on a 1 month tourney where only 50% of the teams participate is not true championship. Presidents trophy is where the real champions are. Warriors battling for 82 games against all odds to win the league title. There is no preference given on how we were ranked in the previous year. If the league really feels that they need to have a winner they should do something like the champions league in Soccer and crown 1 team.
