It's amazing how people think we are tanking. A rebuild doesn't happen overnight. We are just this bad. Teams like Colorado and Columbus seem to be the ones tanking.

If you say so. Currently we are in need of offense. Gorges supplies virtually zero. I like Gorges better then Ehrhoff but that doesn't change the fact that Ehrhoff is the better ALL AROUND TALENT. Gorges takes the cake in the defense aspect guaranteed. But Ehrhoff is pretty solid on offense and defense making Christian the better all around guy.

His play was very lackluster because of it.

Ehrhoff didn't want to be here. He wasn't a solution anyway.

Certainly Shouldn't be questioning the players/coaching integrity. But does management get questioned? Still no I say.

What's the solution here? Overpay for some guy who's not gonna make much difference anyway? Trade a young prospect for help now to get back to middle of the pack?

Great article.

However if this team is so pathetic why have they actually won games and how come they are losing some games by one goal. They went and picked up some free agents because they didn't want a team of rookies, that just does not work, so some of them are getting experience/bulk/work in the lower leagues. There is nothing wrong with what Buffalo is doing and stuff any one that thinks it is, only 1 team succeeds at the end of the season, the Stanley Cup winner, all of the other teams have failed.

Buffalo will improve this year and if some of these players really do want to stay here they will improve also.

The only reason that this blog happened is because the media is jumping all over Buffalo as if they were the first team to do it in history. We have accepted where we are... we don't need to be run through the ringers during the process.

It not that we feel sorry. Im just tired of everyone bashing the Sabres for not having any honor. They chose to rebuild. They were not satisfied with average. They tried the trade and FA route and that failed.

So they are now going the route of "Get the best players" and that can only be done by being bad and picking at the top.

The constant "The Sabres are embarrassing the league" is a bit over the top by members of the media to the north. (No offense)

A. He wasn't our best defensemen for pretty much all of last season
B. Our point is that the way he played last year, makes the trade off a wash

He was being wasted here, same with Moulson now

In 2 years, Gorges playing against 2nd tier competition with less minutes will make him much more effective

I did and the point isn't valid IMO.

His all around talent is better but his not wanting to be here made him useless for all this supposed talent.

He played very lazy last year and I don't miss him or his "talent".

the revisionist history people use to describe the genius of Lombardi, tallon and shero makes me laugh. all of La, Pittsburgh and Chicago were absolutely brutal for long stretches.
it wasn't even shero that made those picks actually....

Had jury duty last week and come back to this gold..Win or lose ther's always the buzz.

After 16 games i can sadly say this season is worse than expected. Coming into this season i was projecting a (bad) team that would finish around the 4-6 selection in the 2015 draft. No nhl team should give close to 40 shots a game EVER. Even with a mcEichel type player this team still has a LONG road compared to what i imagined.
Thankfully this appears to be the rock bottom of the rebuild..i hope
