Are you done? Like really. Are you done? Bieksa has been so bad you guys are calling for buyout. That isnt happening here with Voynov. His play isnt bad. Though for you. Its all about points. - poisondhearts37
One step further, it's about being first over all in the NHL in points playing in lousiest division in hockey, then folding like a cheap suit in the playoffs. The Canucks have a few wins this season and their moron fans are coming back in force. Now you are in one of the toughest divisions in the NHL.
Innocent until proven guilty, unless they have different laws in Vancouver, oops, I mean Canada. |

If u know nothing about the team, u shouldn't post comments bc the person u mentioned has traded for 2 NHL defensemen in Boychuk & Leddy which has improved the team dramatically. |

Calm down. It's just a lighthearted comment. He got some solid guys in those two. However he has made some other very suspect moves in the past. Moulson trade comes to mind. |

Similar to the Heatley situation in ATL. Accident or not Heatley was reckless.
In the end Heatley was traded regardless of the talent he possessed.
I think voynov will get traded and I think it'll be to DET. - Shenanigans20
I'd take him in the bay! |

"This story is a great demonstration of my maxim that any headline which ends in a question mark can be answered by the word "no." The reason why journalists use that style of headline is that they know the story is probably bullpoop, and don’t actually have the sources and facts to back it up, but still want to run it."
Brilliant. I think Betteridge might be my new hero. |

Jason Lewis: Would the Kings Really Move Voynov? - Jason_Lewis
“How long is this supposed to go on? It’s clear that the system is dysfunctional,” Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi told the Los Angeles Times.
“It has nothing to do with what he did. What he did is off to the side. That’s indefensible. But if a guy does steroids — that’s indefensible in its own right, too, but they’re separate issues — you immediately get the cap space. What’s ridiculous about this, if he gets convicted we get the cap space. If he doesn’t, we’re in never-never land. We get nothing. It’s totally dysfunctional.”

He is absolutely correct. It is ridiculous that this has lasted so long.
What I don't understand is why the NHLPA is "not been inclined to offer any relief." It doesn't make any sense unless I'm missing something. Seems to me the NHLPA would want the Kings to have the ability to call up replacements since those replacements would in fact be NHL players, you know the ones the NHLPA represents. The hypocrisy of one suspendable offense offering relief while another doesn't is nothing short of ludicrous

I can't see them trading Slava soon. The team is doing fine right now in stopgap but Doughty can't maintain 30 minutes per game. Last year Slava played every game (preseason, regular and postseason) and had solid minutes. He's also still the best option for a right-shooting d-man (McBain shoots right, as well, which is why they are looking to him).
Voynov has not been spectacular but has been solid and played well on the second line D and as the right point on PP. Kings don't trade Slava unless McBain works out well. That'll take some time to assess.

That's why this needs to be addressed at every level in the NHL. GM meetings, owners, NHLPA - all of the above. |
