I don't think he played badly , just not especially well. I agree Umberger was a far bigger issue, in terms of being an effective player.

Less than adequate would be a huge upgrade for Umberger

If you could change one rule in the NHL from the list below, what would you choose:

- Shootouts are abolished
- Sidney Crosby is abolished
- CORSI is abolished
- Gary Bettman is abolished
- The word "abolished" is abolished

Not on the list. You have to stay on the list. Stay on it. Forever.

Sort of related, I've been to a fair amount of NHL arenas. I have to say that the Flyers have BY FAR the most in-game advertising I've seen. Most arenas play music or have interactive stuff going on, but the Flyers spend every TV timeout of the first 2 periods trying to sell you everything under the sun. Very annoying.

I haven't been to many games over the last couple seasons-the last lockout really turned me off from spending any cash on the NHL-and I was blown away the other night when I went to the game vs Edmonton. It's a non stop barrage of ads the entire night.

The couple Jets/Flyers games I've been to here I think they have a two tier screen so to speak. One has interactive stuff or whatever, and one part of the screen has ads.

Always exposed. One of us. One of us.

I don't even hear those ads anymore. I'm usually trying to talk to whomever I'm at the game with or trying to figure out where the hell the beer guy went or trying to convince everyone around that the Ice Girls dig me.
