I like that goal but before Yak scored it highlights an issue that Yak has where he doesn't have his stick on the ice when he's in those spots.
Its that split second he saves by having it down already that can make the difference when he gets a pass. Makes it a bit easier to keep the puck infront of you too. - DTF69
With a player with shoot first mentality he's looking for a one-T I think. Ovechkin does it too |

He misfired the puck when his stick was on the ice before he one timed it on the pp - ystoil
I know but there are times where he's had it up by his waist and then a puck squirts out and he's a hair behind burying it.
Maybe not the best comparison but when Burrows would play with the Sedins he'd always be ready with his stick down. Jannik Hansen regularly is not. One of them is great with the Twins, one of them shuts them down better than any opposing defenceman could hope. |

the play was the trade down to 131 to take Griffith. You know sometimes you do Bold things and take the number 1 rated prospect at 1st overall, can't win them all |

I told everyone about severson. Played hockey against him when we we younger and played baseball with him. So good at both sports, basically had a choice to go NHl or MLB |

(frank) I wonder how many points I could get with the Sedins when they were league leaders. They would cycle for 20 minutes then shoot the puck off me and in |

I get it, but he's not Ovechkin/Stamkos/Perry/Marleau/Iginla.
Its just another one of the little things he can improve on. |

Well Anson Carter managed a 3mil contract for beer league level skill and parking himself near the net in a tripod stance. Dude couldn't skate or pass but he could swing his stick and score butt goals. |

I hope draisaitl can develop into a hank sedin-lite type of centre. Has more of a mean streak than hank but similar skating and cycling Styles in the corner. |

He was more or less the first one to play with the Sedins who thought their success was because of him and not the other way around. |
