I can't see Garth giving up any current roster players and breaking up our chemistry. So you're looking at prospects (which we have) or picks (which we don't have).

I think Michael Dal Colle + 1 of Griffin Reinhart/Ryan Pulock would get the deal done. But do we really want to package a future top-6 forward and future top-3 defenseman for a top line forward?


I'd rather keep the prospects. NYI's depth is so solid now, we have the time to let prospects mature in the OHL and AHL. I'd rather have some steady talent coming up and camp competition the next few years, although Kane could be the last piece to solidify our forward corps for the next 3-5 years.

No way I'm trading Dal Colle and one of our two best defensive prospects for a guy who has only had one season in which he played every game and it was the lockout season.

I'm fine with our team for now. If they had to add anywhere it should be on defense.

Same here. Rather the Islanders stay the course. I'm also not moving Reinhart or Pulock while Boychuck is not signed.

The way the team is expected to perform now is with "character". Management expects every player to give 100% every game... so in other words, the anti-Kane. While I love Kovalev, the days of players of his ilk are supposed be over with... not that E. Kane is anywhere in the same league as Kovalev at that.
