the undrafted line. not too shabby to have 4 undrafted players contributing to your team. Granted Raffl and PEB were older - nastyflyergirl
oh yeah. gems.
and it helps cap wise too since theyre generally cheaper |

I understand that it freed up two years of cap space for younger guys who will require raises and extensions, but right now, it looks like the Flyers/Hexy got fleeced in this deal. Columbus was going to use a compliance buyout on him anyway, so why not trade Hartnell for a pick? Between this trade and the JVR one, the Flyer GM's are looking like trade geniuses - aantny88
I get the trade to some degree tho. I really believe they just wanted to get out from under the term of Hartnell's contract. they are really going to have to pay up for Voracek and even Schenn, Couturier and Coburn. |

Regarding the third period period where Talbot got the puck away from Umberger and then fed it to Tanguay for a goal, Chief said yesterday, "He wasn't knocked off the ice. He just lost it on the wall."
I don't really see how that's any better. - bmeltzer

Who sits when Amac and Schenn return????
Right now...
Our best D-men are as follows (with how they have performed to date)
Del Zotto
Streit
Schultz
MacDonald
Grossmann
Schenn
Small Sample Sizes
Coburn
Colaiocovo - GOA88
nice problem to have for once huh? and depth in the minors and prospects, altho that has taken a hit injury wise as well. I had hopes of MDZ finding his game so I can't say its been a surprise per se but Schultz has been a big pleasant surprise. |

Umberger is still on the books when each of those guys is due their raise. If they buy him out after next season, he will count 1.5M against the cap for two more years. It saves money but not a ton. I think he's less moveable now than he was last year. |

yeah. with the cap system the way it is, and teams holding onto their own assets liek gold, drafting is really the way to acquire guys anymore.
and if you can find usable guys in the late rounds/undrafted, it eases the sting of trading away those 2/3/4 rounders at the deadline |

I know this is Martin Mull, but I am not sure of the reference......
 - MBFlyerfan
He occasionally played Russell the Pharmacist on Two and a Half Men, and would often be seen sampling the cough syrup or taking a pill from a customer's count ("Ah, she isn't going to miss one"). When Charlie would call him on it, that would be his line.

So... TSN's region-locked all of their NHL clips now? Used to just be The Reporters and some other random stuff. |
