Sorry, that comment was supposed to be facetious in nature due to the fact of what caused him to be traded from the Flyers. Richards is "meh" in my book. take him or leave him. I'm not a fan of retreads however.

Ah, no worries.

I just don't get wrapped up in some of the off ice rumors about Richards. I know they are out there and some may be true, but as long as he gets it done on the ice, I'm fine.

The problem is, I don't think he's getting it done anymore and the fact is, the stories about his training habits are troubling. That stuff matters that much more as you get older.

Just say it was Vinny for Richards Straight up. It would actually work well in setting up the lineupe. Now you have a 3rd line defensive center to take pressure off Couturier.

Simmonds - Giroux - Voracek
Schenn - Couturier - Read
Umberger - Richards - Raffl
Rinaldo - Bellemare - White/Akeson/VDV


I acutally think it helps the lineup line up better and will let Couturier get more offensive.

An overpaid 4th line center signed for the next 5 seasons when they already have plenty of centers on the roster already plus some in the minors i.e. Laughton. Maybe Hextall would ask for the Kings to eat half Richards salary as well as adding in good ol' Plus to the deal but otherwise I don't see any reason why he would be on the Flyers' radar.
