If he's not getting that many minutes then send him down, waste of a year at five minutes per night.

No doubt. His usage tonight will tell lot since he's no longer playing with two inexperienced wingers. If WD still doesn't play that 4th line as much as he did before(basically as a 3B line) then clearly it means that he flat out doesn't think Horvat is NHL-ready.

I don't think another year in junior would hurt him at all.

Interesting. I never would have guessed. He just does not look good on that line

Yeah, maybe its one of those cases where our eyes and perception are underestimating the player. He does add speed to that line and is always involved in the play, but he was picking himself up off the ice almost every shift.

I think most people's frustration comes from the fact that he gets a ton of chances playing with them and just can't finish. I think he's pretty solid with them. Sedin's speed isn't great and they need a guy who can retrieve the puck for them. He's also good defensively.

I think that his board play and gritty style help the Sedins set up a lot of chances, but he lacks the skills to bury the vast majority, which is why it is so painful to watch

Yeah, that's what I'm guessing. He knows where to go and helps that line create quite a few chances but him getting tossed around and missing some nice chances makes that line look worse than it actually is.

But I'd like to see how large of a sample size that goal rate is based on.

No argument there but he has looked like he belongs when paired with regular NHLers and allows Matthias and Vey to play the wing where they have been much better.

As always where it will get interesting is when the nucks forwards are healthy, I will be disappointment if Horvat goes down if he looks like the 4th best C as he currently has. I know he hasn't scored the same points as Vey but to my eye he looks like a more NHL ready player at this point.

I was going to say this as well. Kassian on that list looks silly because he's played like 6 games there.

I think he's done a great job, when playing with NHL'ers...I think it's the other kids WD doesn't trust.

Bo did a great job against Kopitar!

Definitely pretty key, Kassian was included which should be pretty telling, but Hansen has had quite a few opportunities with them over the years so I doubt he is benefiting from a small sample size.

I wonder how many scoring chances he has had during that time, because he does seem to miss a tonne.

Is that because they get a lot more when he plays with them or that he gets so few when playing away from the Sedins.
