Don't get me wrong, I like JVR by the way.

I just think Hall has that intangible ability to take over a game you only glean if you're witnessing it. Kessel has that too, with one of the best overall shots in the game (maybe even ahead of Ovie and Stamkos). Eberle has timeliness but doesn't have the consistency that Kessel or Hall has.

So Kunitz is at 0, because he's been retired from rankings due to winning so much.

1st is Zetter
2nd is Hall
3rd is Kunitz (oops I forgot)
4th Benn
5th and 6th are Kunitz (poop I forgot again!)
7th is reserved for Ovie for if he ever comes back to LW
8th is Rick Nash
9th is Daniel Sedunitz
10th is James Kun Riemsnitz

Great list man!

edmonton needs a goalie right now to help them win. right now, anderson is a better goalie than reimer. nothing in his game suggests he's going to slow down, and he's signed to a very good deal.

gardiner is certainly a better puck mover than methot, but edmonton already has a few guys who can move the puck, but are completely incompetent in every other facet of the game. methot's overall game is SIGNIFICANTLY better than gardiners.

the oilers fans here have said several times that they don't need young guys who still need to develop, they need guys who are in their prime right now, to help them get over the hump and compliment the plethora of young talent already on the roster.

not saying im interested in the proposal per se, but absolutely this.

the funny part was when dozer said hes embarrassing himself by stating these facts as u just have.

Hall is not WAY better than JVR

Take a look at JVR's #s, they are pretty good.

Edit: since he's become a Leaf

- Garnie

whatever difference you assume between eberle and kessel is absolutely comparable between jvr and hall.

This is a horrible, illogical way to look at this. Just because he's the #2 goalie on TOR's depth chart doesn't mean he'd far and away be the #1 in EDM, and how "vital" is a "vital piece" of a terrible team?
- isles10289

illogical to say the piece doesn't make us better than with what we've lost?

and look at the comparable trades for better goalies. but because the oilers are struggling, they should be the first to give up a way bigger asset and lose a trade?
your logic really is something to behold.

and ur just saying rob peter to pay paul. when we don't actually have to do that to obtain someone of comparable value.

u took one statement out of context and ran with it before thinking it through.
we're not talking roman josi #2, we're talk james effin reamer #2.

good post

face it, we are done for the year. We have to stop trying to make back-ups into starters. Dubynk, Scrivens, Fasth....all are just a wing and a prayer. Reimer would be just more of the same. Perhaps a bit better, but more of the same. Oilers needed to get one in the summer. But we didnt, so there is not much to do now. Making a move right now would either require overpaying or not overpaying and just doing a lateral move for the sake of making a move.

If they could just play more consistently. Scrivens goes on to be the 2nd star in the NHL one week and then he lets in 3 goals from the blue line next game. Fasth gets two decent wins in and then just poops the bed against Nashville.

Maybe it is the goalie coach who needs to be changed but most likely it is the goalies complete lack of confidence in our pylon defense.

I agree and disagree with the article in that, while Reimer would not make the Oilers a contender, he would instantly improve the team. Scrivens and Fasth are fine backup goalies, with Scrivens being the better of the two, but neither can maintain a consistently solid performance. Reimer is not an elite goalie, he is solid and reliable though, so long as the team has confidence in him. At this point, there is no cap room or roster spot for Toronto to take on a Petry or Perron. Also, there is no need for Toronto to trade Reimer right now. He's cheap, doing well and has settled into his role. Trading Fasth and a 2nd would not pry Reimer out of Toronto, because that doesn't help Toronto at all. You don't trade a player just because you can. The only way that Reimer is traded to Edmonton is if MacT moves Yakubov, that would get Toronto's attention. To mitigate the loss, Gardiner would have to go the other way for Fasth and a 2nd. I'm sure this proposal will be rejected by fans, even though it would instantly put the Oilers into playoff contention. It is however, the only way the Oilers get Reimer out of Toronto.

So your saying Fasth, Yakupov and a 2nd for your backup goalie and gardiner?
