I think a lot of oilers fans might agree that on goaltending, we should either go big or go home on an upgrade.
I think a lot of leafs fans might agree that even if Reimer is an upgrade, he's not a huge one.
And it goes without saying we'd be worse without Petry and Perron imo.
I really think there aren't many deals to be found between the oilers and the leafs. There's probably only two players who could be useful to us, and oil fans aren't going to like it: Bozak and Phaneuf. - Morris
It doesn't bother me. both of those guys would be immediate improvements for the Oilers. Only problem is the cost. |

Meh, go out and obtain a Kessel then. - Garnie
We have Eberle. Sure, not as lethal as Kessel, but he is a scoring winger. We add in Perron and then whoever is your 2nd line scoring winger and I'd argue that Edmonton and Toronto have the same results between their two players. |

But there's "scoring wingers" like Radim Vrbata and "scoring wingers" like Patrick Kane. And it's clear that Kessel is closer to the latter than the former. - Morris
100% agree. But the argument stems to, what is more important, a scoring winger (more available) or an impact center (difficult). They haven't had anyone since Sundin.
Both have their upsides. Preference I suppose. |

I don't know, best release/shot in the league.
I wouldn't trade JVR or Kessel, the rest you can fight over.
IMO - I don t watch many Edm games.
You guys need a good D and you have the assets, just afraid to pull the trigger? |

Tom Gazzola, Bob Stauffer, Jack Michaels and Chris Wescott is "the" panel? Really?
Who the #@$% hired them? Safe to say that they're all either related or family friends of Katz ?

Kessel is a way better version of Eberle.
Hall is a way better version of JVR.
As a rough estimate. - Morris
Hall is not WAY better than JVR
Take a look at JVR's #s, they are pretty good.
Edit: since he's become a Leaf |

If you could get him for cheap it would be a good move. - Garnie
agreed. I don't think for the oilers and where they're going Petry or Perron for Reimer is cheap though. |

Hall is WAYYY better than JVR. And I like JVR. Watch Hall play and then watch JVR play.
Edit: Hall has 29 more points in about 90 less games than JVR. |

And I wouldn't trade Hall or Eberle. Perron and Yakupov are debatable, depending on the return.
Edmonton needs a top pairing defenseman and a solid 2C. Prices could be too high, maybe a deal can't be worked out, teams wanting guys that Edmonton wants to keep, who knows. I'm hoping that MacT is working the phones trying to figure out something. |

You're delusional. Hall is way better than JVR and is one of the top 3 LW's in the NHL. |

Same. JVR has been a way better player since his arrival in Toronto. JVR and Pacorietty are similar players. Hall is better than both of those guys. |

yeah, that's kind of exactly where I am.
I'd take Phaneuf and Bozak in a trade where we got a chance to clear some salary (Purcell + Ference?) and also kicked in some picks and prospects to add value.
Whether both are overpaid or liked by Iggy or whatever, they're hometown guys who could do a lot of good shoring up some of the weaker depth spots on the team. |

I don't see the leafs doing a deal like that ever. I wish. |

Hall is the second best left winger in the game. Hands down.
