Missed the game, had a gig tonight. I know they lost, how did they look?

so i watched periods 2 and 3 on dvr. aside from a burst at the start of the 3rd, they were (frank)ing horrible. you could see this loss coming a mile away. the only positive is hartnell got no points.

i thought mason, giroux and voracek were the only reasonably good players throughout. schenn was ok late, but it amounted to nothing.

they handled the puck like it had aids and ebola, stood around, and watched, and lost every board battle and loose puck hopping around all over the ice. it was just a brutal display of bad execution.

lose on home ice, when well rested to an injury riddled team on a 9 game losing streak, going 1-4 on the pk. nice.

Umberger and Vinny are simply black holes as of now. I'd rather see that fourth line out there more often.

Mason made some good saves, but also a little too inconsistent in tonight's performance imo.

Very even ice time distribution on that back end other than Carlo. Coburn needs to play more.

mason was actually quite good. no chance on either of the first 2 goals, both on the pp, both deflected into his net by teammates. goal 3 was just a poop show in front, he got interfered with by simmonds and foligno made a very nice play with some patience to bury it. goal 4 was on a 5 on 3 and couldn't corral the rebound, d gets beat to the puck and the guy buries it off the inside of the post. none of these are really on him at all, and another game where they gave up close to 40 shots on goal. it's just too (frank)ing many shots against. again.
