I am of the opinion that unless you're staying at the hotel, there is zero reason to be hang out in a hotel bar. Zero.

They aren't taking reservations so the dinner wait was 2.5 hours. There isn't a lot of common areas around the bars to hang and drink, so if you don't have a bar seat you're essentially standing right by tables while people eat and dodging servers walking by. There are zero bar ledges to set a glass on and zero pub tables with bar stools. There were groups of people ages 24 to 60 having drinks on staircases and in front of broom closets. It was weird.

They're going to start taking reservations December 1st I guess. I'm planning on checking it out on December 20th before the Avs game. I figure I can go and get a late lunch/early dinner before the game and before it gets absolutely crazy in there for dinner.

They definitely wanted it to have an "upscale" vibe to it, in which it delivered.

And keep in mind, there's a hotel opening in the complex next May. That essentially is going to be the hotel restaurant.

I guess the 38 foot tv gave me more of an expectation of a sports bar. It just seems like a place that in order to get 4 bar stools together or dinner reservations it will have to be willed in your family to you.

I guess it's possible. I've never had to do that. The best way to know for sure is to ask one of the Refs. NF or Stashu can tell you. They have access to all that stuff.

I know that you and I have disagreements about things, but never once have I felt that making a comment about where you work, the frequency of your posts or anything like that is necessary.

I think in many ways, you think of things similar to me. You have an opinion, but you use facts to back it up most of the time. You use those facts to support it. Never once have you told me that I'm blind or stupid.

And agreed on the other stuff. There's really no point in doing that. The reality is that we all essentially really know very little about each other, other than what we choose to share here. I know some folks have met others in person, are facebook friends, etc., but even then, unless you're one of those people that narrate their entire lives on social media, we still know very little.

Im always on the look out for younger crowd bars and of course elmwood is hands down the best. I Guess it doesnt matter too much anymore seeing as ill be in SC and florida for the next year

Eventually, the novelty will wear off at least a little bit. It will still do well, but I don't think you'll have lines jampacked out the door all the time. It's the brand new hip thing to do right now. I will be interested to see what it's like this time next year.

Don't not go. You have to experience it. Just have reservations once they start and plan on waiting 4 months. Just don't go randomly on a Friday night and expect to have a good time.

If the Sabres get Mcdavid, plan on it being busy for a long time. It was cool we went to Lagerhaus 95 and they had the Otters game on. Fox and Strome both looked good.

That is very true. I don't use Twitter and I don't post on facebook a ton. Usually it's stuff from when I go on vacation or is sports related in some way. It drives me crazy that some people pretty much tell everyone how many times they poop in a day.

But on that topic, I did just get a promotion at work and a decent raise along with it to essentially do that same job I've already been doing for the last 2 years. Go me.

There are a few that I've met on here and hung out with a few times. I can't say that I've had a bad experience as far as that goes. I actually work in the same building as one of the posters here, so he's one of them. I think in total I've met 7 or 8.

No. It's closer to the arena. It's on the corner of Perry and Mississippi. Same block as the Cobbleststone, just on the Perry end instead of the S. Park end.
