And the 'petty' reason I don't like him is cause he's just plain brutal on the ice. SLOW and getting slower. Constantly makes dumb plays, doesn't raise his game when his team needs him. No GM in their right mind would trade for him considering his deteriorating level of play and massive contract that's attached to him.

Watch him play... Christ watch the highlights from tonight's game in Buffalo to give you a sense of where his game is at.

i would have no issue having Dion on the Oil, but not at the price of his contract.

For all his issues he is still one of the best Dmen on the Leafs so it is not like they will let him go for cheap.

The Oil cannot just take on his contract, money has to back the other way. It will need to be a Dman, but anyone making money are definite downgrades to the Leafs.

Do they try and trade Nikitin? I doubt that the leafs want him, Nik and 2nd round pick? Meh.

Unless it was certain that Petry was not going to resign, but I don't think the team are at that point they know that...and I would rather overpay Petry with a long-ish extension. 5x5, then just lose him for Dion.
