With prospects like Teravainen, McNeil and Morin still coming along it's going to ease the loss of a guy like Sharp. Especially with Saad continuing to develop.

Morin won't be here long. He hasn't shown much and Q isn't a fan

yeah.
we aint getting the stud 1. we have to wait and hope nurse becomes that. which could take years. if ever.

so we need to add what quality top pairing guys we can if we wanna get past this stage. even if they have warts, we need it done asap.
and a step further, I thnk the biggest thing for this franchise is wins for these kids and confidence. the longer we wait, the harder is it to turn around after years of losing.

but on the flip side, the desperation isn't a secret. so I can guess the lowball offers mact gets on the reg. plus the inability to attract big name free agents.
hes got a tough job.

of all people, id assume a Blackhawk fan can remember and see how huge the signings of Campbell and hossa were for that squad moving forward at that stage of the rebuild...

I do. Its also why they were so expensive or signed to a really long term deal. They had to do something to show the rest of the league that it was a new day in Chicago.

He looked not bad last year in a few games. He will most likely top out as a 3rd liner with some sandpaper and some scoring touch like a Benoit Pouliot.

He's really taken a step back from his play last year. He looked much better in limited minutes last year than in a daily role this year

Also, pouliot has way more talent than Morin will ever have

Pouliot was an elite prospect at one point

we cant attract superstars at present.

we can only get secondary players like pouliots and nikitins. and still have to overpay in both dollars and term.
even trades are tough, as the stars with ntc's put edm at the top of their lists.

I watch pouliot and its tough to understand why hes had so much inconsistency.

great skater, great hands and can play a gritty game. hes a talented player. with some size.

hes been fantastic on that top line since hall went down.
in fact, because of this, I think hes given us some options to spread out the offence better when hall returns.

but im sure the inconsistencies will return....

Sharp is pretty under appreciated by many Hawk fans. You know because consistent 30 goal scorers grow on trees. They may not have much choice though with the cap.

In the system there are a few guys who can replace Morin who I think the Hawk brass is higher on. Hartman for one. The strength of the prospects are in middle 6 players.

wonder how much that has to do with the management team more than the city itself.

the city, travel, location, weather doesn't help at all.
sh1t, I moved away to vancouver, and wouldn't go back for anything less than a ton of cash either.

but being a bottom feeder doesn't help either.

I don't think its anything personal on mact.
hes had the job for not even 2 full seasons.

edm will never be a huge destination in todays game/world where these kids are celebrities in huge markets like la and Chicago.

winning will help no doubt, but theyl still never be as desirable as Anaheim. or even Vancouver. but they need to get better first to even be considered.

IMO, there is only one untouchable on Edmonton and it's Hall

Eberle is a good player but I don't get why people are so reluctant to get rid of him

Yak MAY be an elite goal scorer one day, but that looks less likely every day

Nuge MAY be an elite top line center one day but at this point he probably seems better as a really good 2C as he struggles against elite matchups

Eberle is a good play making winger but he hasn't really taken the next step in becoming a top tier winger

All guys have very good trade value, but Edmonton needs to bite the bullet and say goodbye to one of them to fix some glaring needs on D because their prospects aren't going to fix it

Edmonton treats yak, RNH, and eberle like they're toews, giroux, and stamkos

Just because they burned some high draft picks on these guys doesn't mean they're worth elite returns

- FourFeathers773

Prepare for the wrath of Edm. But I agree with your point of view.

Edit: I really think Ebs is a great player. Just stuck in a bad spot.

I wasn't actually referring to MacT. Kind of think he is in the same place as Tallon was for the Hawks. Part of a perception that wasn't of his doing.

The rest I have no idea about because I have never been to Edmonton so I have no idea about the city itself other than its get freakin cold there.

I can understand that. You would think after watching the guy play for the team you cheer for people would appreciate what he brings to the franchise.

Pouliot has no value... He would have value only if it was the last year of his contract.

It's been like that since the early 90's. Pretty sure it has to do with not being a contender, not being a sexy city and cold winters.

but if yaks is in fact a bust as you say. why would we move eberle?

and nuge nor hall are going anywhere in any realistic deal.
your thoughts on nuge are tired. u clearly haven't seem him play this year.
hes already a 1c. and is gonna be a great one.
the best part is he aint even 22 yet!!

I agree, but not taking a poopty deal for sake of making a trade. I think Ebs is worth more than the bottom Pair D or 3rd liners most morons think we need to be better.
