Do I sound like Oilers fans when they say that Yakupov is the hardest working player in the NHL, Petry is underrated, Scrivens is a good goalie, RNH is Datsyuk-lite, Pouliot is worth $4M a year, Klefbom is a stud yet when you look at the standings the Oilers are in last place? Something doesn't add up. |

they signed him just a few months ago and he's been great. His play with RNH-Eberle has us thinking they could split up that top line and have 2 play pushing lines.
not going anywhere |

This is how Eklund makes his money. Starts a he-said she said that pits Oilers fans against non-Oilers fans.
All those page hits likely aren't ever going to entice me to buy a Dodge Ram, but there's still an elegance in the simplicity of Ek's business plan. |

yakupov does work hard.
petry is underrated.
other than that, you're grasping..
the oilers are pretty awful, but theyre a bubble team in the east. and theyre record thus far proves it. theyre in last because they play in the west. this is what we're saying.
certainly not something to be proud of. just is what it is. |

The reason teams the top teams in the West tend to have more points than the top teams in the East is because they get to face the bottom feeders of the West more often and earn free points. - rangerdanger94
Wow. This is as dumb as it gets.

What is shocking is how the whole premise is somehow not considered fraud.

I've heard someone say something approximately some of these things. But with some major caveats.
I've heard people say Scrivens is NHL calibre...maybe that counts as good?
Pretty sure people talk about a player's playing style a lot with young players. Nuge looks like Datsyuk-lite like Seth Jones looks like Chris Pronger-lite. Playing style =/= talent level.
Same thing with Klef. People call him a stud prospect. World of difference between that and just a stud.
Never actually heard anyone say anything particularly positive about the value of Pouliot's contract. |

Existence and truth are two different concepts. - Morris
Right, but would it not be true from the moment of its existence? Being the first person to point it out doesn't make it original, it was true before it was proposed.
Depends on how you want to look at it I suppose. |

We finished 4th last year, 2nd the year before and we're sitting in first.
Claim the West is hard all you want, I don't see the Oilers in a playoff position in the East either. - ehabs9
Look at the oils record against the west ...a conference which they are the in the bottom of.... Now look at their record against the east ...they just might be a playoff team if they could play there. The oil are built like an eastern team ...which is why they have issues in the west. Id love to swap the oil with Habs in their respective conference ...I'd be willing to bet the oil make it in the east and the Habs miss in the west |

Claiming that MacT is jerking other GMs around, and listing a series of other teams they may be talking to and implying that one of those GMs thinks MacT is jerking them around is skirting the edge of libel, isn't it? |

you're wrecking everything. exaggeration drives ones point home further.
and while exaggeration is one thing; the last one is just flat out made up.
nobody has ever said "pouliot at 4 mil long term!! YES!!" |
