As it stands, none of us have Veto rights. If the league wants to instate a veto, it should only be done after all current trades have went through.

Honestly speaking though, I'm pretty sure it was a mistake. He must've wanted someone else, and forgot to add them. Depending on who it is, I don't mind completing the deal. It completely depends on who it is though.

I think most of us agreed not to implement the veto. I'm sure Nucker will just email Bieksas B's to confirm and then process the trade

I honestly don't give a rats ass. It is like someone else is picking what you're having for dinner but as a courtesy they let you vote on what condiment you would like with it Most likely if you asked for ketchup you will get mayo instead anyways

This!

vote or you have no right to complain about anything political until 2018...

I voted NPA and Cope. NPA is farther to the right then I am, but their policies are surprisingly liberal.

My parents opened their business in the Punjabi Market 30 years ago, and since Vision took over the market has just detereated. Through my conversations with Kirk LaPointe, I feel like he's going to help bring our historical peice of the city back to prominence. If I hadn't spoken with him, I would've voted Vision.

Confirming after the trade has been accepted by both parties is pointless. What kind of precident does that set? That someone can back out of a deal after they've already completed it?

Just to clarify, he sent me the deal first. I just accepted it. If he reads this thread and realizes he's made a grave mistake, he's just allowed to back off? That's fuc*ing dumb.

Wheeler alone should be enough for Holtby??
- LeftCoaster

I could see a 2 for 1 for Holtby but not 3 for 1 hahaha that is a mistake or if we had a vetoe button still it already would be cancelled

Guy has a good team but is in 16th... does he even set his line up? I mean T. Seguin was on his bench today yet he can send out trades like that???

If he says he doesn't want to make the trade anymore because he got bent over that's one thing. It's another if he (frank)ed up his offer or didn't mean to send it. And it is another thing entirely if he is trying to tank. I don't see how it's unreasonable for Nucker to email and confirm since it takes 48 hours to process a trade anyways

I think there has to be some integrity to the process, when all is said and done. I want everyone to be competitive but not at the risk of making this whole thing a farce

You have to consider that he's going to come into this thread and read all the reactions too. Are we allowed to make decisions based on others opinions after the trade has been completed? Is that what it's come down to?

I felt the same way when I was fresh out of high school. I didn't give a rats ass about politics from 19-23. I'm 25 now, whoever wins this election is going to be in office for the foreseeable future. It might not have an effect on me now, but it will the older I get.

Parise and Perry are scrubs?

Not to mention young talent like Trouba (gold), Reilly Smith, Monahan (gold+), B Nelson (gold+)

- Zogg

He traded them for smith and Monahan.

I got absolutely ripped to shreds for my Elliott trade, but I still stuck to it after reading the reactions on here. Either way, it is in Nucker's hands so that's the last I'm going to say on the issue. As I said, if both sides agree to it, I have no problem with it.

I don't think Nucker's ever based any decisions on the extent of individual poolie's reactions. I think it's just a matter of ensuring no one gets the benefit of someone that either made a mistake, is tanking on purpose, or just trying to stir up sh*t. If what SMP said is correct (Seguin being on the bench today) then I would suggest it points to one of those reasons and is not intended as a legitimate transaction. Anyway, my $.02 as always

Fair enough. I just think it's unfair to everyone if someone is allowed to back out of a deal because they had a change of heart or something. Either way, we'll never know what his original thought process was since he's gonna come in here and read everyone's reactions.

If what comes from this is that we have to reinstate Veto options, that's all fine and good. But it should only happen after all current trades are processed.

True enough. I don't pay enough attention to politics for it to affect me, or for my vote to be useful. I don't tell my mechanic how to fix my car

I understand your stance; however, I've always felt that being competitive should not be based on taking advantage of either someone's mistake or an intentionally controversial transaction. I think part of the enjoyment of the pool is to obviously have success but not at the cost of simply being fortuitous in getting such a one-sided trade proposal.

I think we probably should have kept the Veto option (this is employed in pretty much most leagues I"m in or have been. It ensures there is a general consensus (especially when you have 16 other managers which should balance out or allow individual perspectives to still be important but that reason and fairness prevail above all)
