I think he was gonna say something else.

Kings have to make moves at some point, they have a host of players they'd like to keep that will require cap space |

It'd be a great deal 8 minutes after original deal. Regher is another slow, stay at home type |

Richards would be HUGE upgrade, the hard part is getting rid of Umberger which I think it may be easier to walk on water than do that. |

i'd do Vinny for Richards too since Richards would be better at the role Vinny should be playing right now |

I need something else in that deal. You're taking on more years with Richards.
I agree that Richards would be a much better fit tho. |

Kings are closer to the cap than the Flyers, that won't happen. - ob18
You know what's funky? For the same reason the Flyers likely took Umberger for Hartnell, I could see the Kings doing the same kind of thing with Richards, where you take a lesser player with a shorter contract, tough financial terms, and move him
I personally don't think Richards has much left -- others disagree -- and I don't think the Flyers would benefit long term at all, but I'll be honest and say even with where I think he is as a player today, he's got more left in the tank than Umberger
Sad, to me, how Umberger just appears to have deteriorated so quickly -- it's one thing to slow down gradually, but where he is now is just tough to watch |

Well...that's the question. If you think Vinny can still score, and you think you have the wingers to play with him, maybe he does.
The Kings don't necessarily need another checking center, because Kopitar and Stoll can handle the heavy lifting and Carter's a pretty decent defensive center
Really, the key numbers are "4.5" and "5.75" -- that 1.25 in cap savings the Kings would get, with where they are now, has to be something they'd be interested in, though they certainly don't have to do a deal with the Flyers and the Flyers don't have to be interested, and you still have Vinny's NMC

The other thing, wasn't Vinny only interested in playing on the East coast?
The deal would probably have to involve Umberger then, unless it's some sort of multi player deal. |

Flyers would still have to jiggle it a bit. That's why I suggested adding Coburn & Regher to a deal. Gives LA a needed defenseman with Voynov & Martinez out and balances the cash out |

He is no where near the player he was and his contract is scary long.
He does bring leadership which is what this team needs more of.
Umberger or Vinny would have to be a part of deal and I would define Umberger as a player who is " well done"

Yes -- that's who I was talking about, though I realize I wasn't being very clear. I was referring to Umberger.
