I cannot be the only one who sees Arcobello as the #1 problem on this team. Yes he's fast, yes he gives A+ every night...but he doesn't have the skill nor the head of an NHL player. He's lost out there and I am sick of watching his late suicide passes, he's 1/2 second too late to get a pass on his tape, and I certainly don't like watching him get muscled off of the puck. His line-mates must be burning up inside having to skate with this kid.

I'm tired of watching this team improve so much only to see these AHL players boot passes and create offsides due to their brains being two steps behind (especially with the talent these kids have).

Second goal tonight is 100% on Arcobello....even though he makes a silly low-percentage pass attempt he is so weak on his stick that it blows up on him...and then he has the nerve to coast into his assignment in the slot. I'm so done with this kid.

Pretty much everyone else I liked actually. Well, Ference always sucks but he wasn't as horrible as usual.

Hallsy looked tentative but good for him for getting back out there.

Another D prospect is what this team needs? No, they need D that can play NOW, and for a few years until their D prospects mature.

Hanifin will play next year and would instantly be the Oilers best D man.

That too me was the biggest difference. Even the shots not blocked, weren't great chances. How many blocked shots for the Oilers? They sure don't make it easy on the goalie.
- batjester

We blocked 21. The Oilers are usually in the top 10 if not top 5 for blocked shots.

Maybe, but if that was to happen, then the oilers would be looking at another top 5 pick. Enough with the (frank)ing "prospects", it's time to get "better".

Yes I think you are. Sure he isn't great but our #1 problem? We have no defense and shoddy goaltending.

It really didn't seem like that many, or maybe it just seemed like every shot of the Oilers was contested or blocked.

True but I doubt the Oiler brass have the balls to trade the pick.

we could absolutely use a better 2/3c. but not even close to our number 1 problem imo.
top paring defender, consistent goaltending a rookie center in the top 9.
all bigger problems than arcobello imo

And I think THAT is the root of most of the Oilers problems. Management that doesn't get it.

Draisaitl's a bigger problem than Arco. I like the idea of finding a real C for Hall n splitting the top line up

Good team defense starts with the C...every shift. Our D wasn't the problem tonight whatsoever, they all pitched in and all did their part...even more so.

I have no problem with Arco as an Oiler.....in a 4th line utility role.
