I would t disagree with you, however, since nobody who has a franchise D-Man wants or needs to trade them for pretty much anything. Every one of those D-Men play on a perrenial playoff team if not a contender. There is not a single elite top pair defender on a mediocre or poor team in the entire league that I can think of.

But seriously You guys have to make some changes sooner then latter. I think Number 1 dman is top priority. Goalie is almost impossible to pick up in a trade now a days. ( you missed out with Schnieder and Bernier). Second line center you could steal one at deadline. How low forwards were going you could get one for low draft pick and prospect.
You have great Number 2 center but he will take year or two to develop, so veteran like derek roy would be great add i think.

Dman will solve most of the problems though. Good luck
