it's a ridiculous article as usual. The Flyers are not taking richards back. He burned many bridges after he left. He's a center. He has a high cap hit and we want to dump some salary. The Kings want to move his salary as this is why they are shopping him. The Flyers won't trade picks or prospects they want to send salary back which wouldn't make any sense for the Kings. And it doesn't make sense like 99% of Ek rumors.... |

So Philly is going to trade one of Lecavlier or Umberger and then trade for Richards without moving picks or prospects? What is he selling? Hopes and dreams? - Dangles13
Aren't those the same as picks and prospects? |

yes. as a Flyer fan, you should know this. |

I'd love Richards on the leafs. Maybe franson and biggs? They could then flip franson for picks.
Komogod - Richards - clarkson would be hell for the opposing teams. |

To those asking why they would take Umberger, it would be to give him until the end of the season, then buy him out. Richards term and money make it a toxic contract nobody will give up a bunch for (that hed waive to go to) so to cut their losses, a buyout on Umberger is much less for much shorter than it would be for Richards. |

1) It is Eklund. He makes his rumours up
2) LA might settle for Umberger because he has only 2 years left on his contract and LA needs Cap space. This could make sense if the plan is to Buyout RJ during the offseason. They'd owe him for that one year and they are done instead of paying Richards almost 6 mill to play on the 3rd/4th line for much longer with a NTC
3) Flyers don't have the cap space for this deal even if they dealt RJ. Flyers have young guys who are going to get big raises in the next 2-3 years |

I don't think Kings want to trade with us any more. We dusted them on both trades recently. |

How so? We turned the garbage that you traded us for Bernier into Gaborik. Let me think a backup goaltender for our leading goal scorer in the playoffs.... Yea we got hosed
To infer MLSE is smarter than Deano is laughable. Laffs can't even make the playoffs in the least
Enjoy the longest cup drought in the league..... mustve been tough to rack up those cups with 6 teams in the league |

Why do you EDM guys even bother getting so mad still? Direct your anger towards Oilers Management. You're getting shown up in the standings by the got'damn Flames. - hereticpride
Them and 20 other teams ...including the flyers ....how embarrassing for the oilers |

It's a different level of embarrassment when a team sucks so bad they get 3 first overalls... But then still suck that they get a 3rd and can't get any better and are in the running for another 1st.
You obviously didn't pay much attention to the management comment.... The organization is a joke. |

Why did they trade Hartell for Umburger again? - Allforhim12
my opinion is to get out from the term of Hartnell's contract. Would I rather have Hartnell than Umberger right now? No question. But after the 2015-2016 season the contracts of Voracek, Couturier, B Schenn, Raffl and Coburn expire (L Schenn and Grossmann too but I would think 1 or even both will be gone) so I have to think Umberger's contract expiring after the 2016-2017 season is more appealing than Hartnell's which runs for 2 additional yrs til the age of 37. What annoys me more than the swap is only getting a 4th rounder in the deal. to me they should have gotten a 2nd rounder taking on Umberger. |

you forget they're also taking on Hartnell. In two years, his deal with probably look equally poopty as Umberger's does now. |

He certainly isn't the big time scorer he used to be and he's became a third/fourth liner out in L.A., but how cool would it be to see Richards revive his career back in Philadelphia? (back where it all started with him). It might be weird being former captain and the abrupt trade and how everything ended and other things, but he's a winner and a leader everywhere he's been, since before he was drafted. He would fit right in right away and energize the the lineup, the fans and the franchise. How effective would he be with Couturier and Read? This would be sweet. Keep in mind he's only 29, which isn't old at all for a hockey player by the way. He still has a lot left in the tank; in my opinion. |
