Sounds like a tweener but a damn good one. That said I'd trade Dumoulin for Rattie since we have next to ZERO depth at forward in the AHL/Juniors.
- Barnaby36

+1 , he is small but would still do it to give us ANY depth at forward.

Why?
- nbartley9

Bc sill isn't doing anything, downie is taking too many penalties and megna is doing good in wbs and should be rewarded. Fine switch him and downie but he should be up but cap space is hurting him.

I'm not sure how you rate Dmen, but Jbo and Gunnarson aren't underperforming at all this year. I guess you just look at points. Jbo has been carrying Pietro so far and Gunnarson is just getting up to speed after missing multiple months due to surgery. He's looked real good the last few games. Also, Ian Cole has been excellent most of the year, and that's with Jackman as a partner, so props to him.

Also, the Blues don't need to move Rattie, b/c they think of things in terms of top 9 minutes, not top 6. Rattie will be a regular winger with either Stastny or Lehtera next season. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the Blues current NHL wingers moved as opposed to swapping prospects.

- bluenoter

Piets has taken a step back ever since jbo has come around. Jbo is solid, but he is declining and it is becoming obvious. Gunnarsson will be a 3rd pairing dman who can play 2nd pairing minutes if needed.

Yeah... and why won't they slash Scuderi?

We're not lucky enough for that

Rattie is listed at 6' 0" and 178 lbs. For comparison, Patrick Kane is listed at 5' 11" and 177 lbs. So I am not worried about Rattie's size. Being 6' 2" and 195 lbs doesn't seem to be helping Bennett out too much.

Not that they have a similar game, but Hornqvist is 5' 11" and 189 lbs. I'm guessing he was a little lighter when he was younger. Rattie is only 21, he can fill out a little bit.

Rattie is just shy of the NHL average height/weight so that isn't a big deal. He has tremendous hands and is a proven finisher. Put him with a puck control freak like Sid and you will watch goals just pile up.

I'd be up for swapping Dumoulin for a Top-6 F prospect. Future of D still looks solid without him:

Letang-Maatta
[Re-signedMartin/Ehrhoff]-Despres
Scuderi-Harrtington
Pouliet-Bortuzzo

And I know i'm beating the same dead horse we all have been for quite a while, but moving Scuderi for a bag of 'magic' beans would just solve so many problems...

And yet... D men are the hottest commodity in the league. Teams are scraping the fa barrel instead of paying the prices in trade... For now. Sheros strategy will pay off soon. Individual drafties are a gamble... Easy to say saad or fordburg now... But easily could have been a bust forward. Pens are stacked in the priciest position in the league. I'll take it

Great find Gunner. I was thinking Armia in Buffalo but he seems to be shrinking while this kid is booming. It certainly wouldn't hurt to deal from our depth to get him.
Same goes for the Blues. It is from their strength.

- usethe1-2-2

Actually, Armia and fellow linemate Grigorenko are both having much better starts to the season, both are tied for 2nd in goals with 5 and rank 4th and 6th in points(on the team). Grigorenko in particular has been a complete turn-around from last season.

Good luck getting your paws on them though, if you haven't notices Buffalo is in rebuild mode.

In other news, i've always refrained from jumping on the "crosby is a cry-baby" bandwagon........but jesus, he made himself look like such a DB and any other player would have been penalized or tossed from that game.

Ive heard, good for them. I just want Armia and when I was reading his growth was dissapointing, article from like a month ago, I was hoping he would be trade bait. For shame.

Yeah, last season was a pretty disappointing one for him, though I think he was injured for a good stint.

Good point. It's what they do. It's all they know. It does provide for some comic relief though reading the sanctimonious bullpoop spewing from them.
