Same love for thee, V - I think we both do a good job of barbing each other in good fun (and always enjoy the debates, ya bastid ), but at the end of the day it's all about respect and there's loads there, bra' (ok, sorry to sound like an Amish hip hop wannabee lol). |

Great analysis I like that you also mentioned Fedorov who, in his prime, was easily Top 10 (maybe even Top 5) for a number of years (funnily enough, I think he hasn't received the same 'love' from fans that others have - but at least the vast majority of sportswriters/casters or hockey people in general, have always appreciated and have been in awe of such incredible generational talent that Forsberg was, and to almost the same extent, Fedorov as well) - Zogg

What a terrible trade that ended up being for Lindros, and I loved the way Lindros played, he was a generational player.
Too bad he couldn't keep his head up
His first eight years in the league he scored 659 points in 486 games. |

Nawww, don't worry, it's always enjoyable and I know there isn't any malicious intent etc there. I think it's always great to lighten up and not be overly serious about things and just enjoy the interactions, comments, perspectives, and input (and it's great that you also have the same philosophy, in that you don't take things personally and it's all in fun). That's what makes things great on here, the various viewpoints and passionate debate on whatever topics may arise (including non-hockey as well). |

I agree. It's ironic that both players had a similar type of intense and almost reckless style (and which is the reason both had to retire much sooner than most players). Both were phenomenal players - not only a high skill level but demonstrated time and again that they had that extra toughness element. They could easily hold their own - or even dominate - in the trenches.
And despite what you may think of Lindros in terms of a personal level, you can't deny that he was a FORCE whenever he got on the ice. He was the entire package and could basically rag-doll most defenseman whenever he was on the offensive side of the puck. He would either go around you or simply go right through you. And yes as you noted, it's too bad about the concussions, as I think most people enjoyed watching him play, and it's sad and disappointing that a talent like his (and Forsberg's) is cut short due to injuries. |

I dreaded watching the Flyers play the Canucks back in the day. Werent them Renberg and Leclair called the legion of doom? Or has the legion of boom (Seattle Seahawks) warped my memory?
They DESTROYED the canucks everytime they played each other. And holy hell I hated Lindros back then. But Today, Its very easy to be in awe of the talent he was.
Like they say, You hate him to your absolute core. But would kill to have him on your team.
For a guy like Lindros who suffers from multiple concussions. (3 Myself) I really appreciate what he did in this league.
And hope his mentle illness is improving. Man head shots are a scary thing. And I honestly dont think most people dont understand that if they havent been throguh it themselves.
Mental illness is scary scary shyt.
Never liked Pronger. He was a dirty bastard. But I feel for the guy. |

Yes Lindros along with LeClair and Renberg formed the Legion of Doom, they had a fantastic team with Brind Amour as their second line center. |

They deserved a SC. I believe Leclair got one...... I think with Carolina. Could totally be wrong though. Maybe that was Recchi? Oh who gives two shyts. They were a solid bunch.
If bure is in HOF I think Lindros should be to.
Sometimes you just have to make exceptions.
And Bure was certainly one of them. |

He had a HEX on him from 3 million Quebecers, no chance he was ever going to win a cup. |

Right right right. I knew the quote, just couldn't place it. I was thinking of that scene from Great outdoors where they're sitting in the bar and Aykroyd has a line much like that, the salesman in him. |

He did his job, better than most in his era, and won two Stanley cups for it. If he played now, he'd be looked at more like Raffi Torres, and would likely have been suspended multiple times. |
