My point is that a guy that gets a lot of points isn't the be all end all either. I'd take Doughty over those other 2 any day. He scores, he's good in his own end, and he plays a physical game.

Not just Gil, but Irish and a few others. I really think it has everything to do with the fact that Myers doesn't beat people up and he's resented for that. People obsessed with toughness and grit and disregard skill.

Not on this team. Even Erik Karlsson had Daniel Alfredsson or Jason Spezza to play with when he "elevated" the Sens to the playoffs.

Yet there are examples of "All star" players being buried by sub par teams every season.

Mark Giordano was just a decent player for years while the Flames struggled, now at 31 he's going to be a Norris candidate, did he just all of the sudden get it at 30? Or did being stuck on a losing franchise make a really good player lose value?
