I would argue we are.

We're going to be closer to the cap next year than this year even to maintain this exact roster. We'd assuredly be banking on the cap going up to get necessary upgrades at Centre and Defense.

I think we are getting closer and closer to being in big cap trouble... There is no way Yak plays for less than 4.5 mill- surely MacT is going to give his Norris candidate and hefty raise and longer term THen there is upgrades- hopefully...

While I completely agree with you (again, you always have great knowledge) it was only in reference to the Hodgson v. Eberle comments.

Jultz/Petry/Yakupov are all coming up on new contracts which may not go well (aka, farewell Petry )

Out of that entire group- I am truly unimpressed with any of them - this season and these stupid secondary throwing money players that dont really contribute to the end result usually bite you in the ass when it comes to cap and wins... (frank)!!!

Schultz has only played in 140 games, barely over a season and a half. D usually take around 300 or so games before they fully develop in the NHL

Outside of him as an RFA...its Neimi, Harding, Enroth as your big names on the market for UFAs...don't see that big of an upgrade over Fasth with any of those cats.

the UFA goalie market is really weak this year. So you are poaching an RFA goalie like Bob or Holtby or you are trading for one under contract.
