I don't know about either of those. I think Ziba plays a pretty key role for us now and certainly going forward.

I look at smith, neil, greening, condra, chiasson, michalek, legwand as expendable/movable forwards. I think that only smith, chiasson and legwand have any value - with maybe condra having a little. I'd try to hang on to our others.

Doesn't get us much.

If it's a trade for an impact player (which, I suppose Eberle is), I would give up one of our good players, prospect and pick.

I think you're paying a king's ransom for Eberle. A much more realistic offer would be Methot, Wiercioch and Michalek/Legwand for Eberle and a third. Edmonton needs more veteran presence on the D and Ottawa needs a good winger. This probably won't float as Edmonton overvalues their players. That is why they don't have that shutdown defenseman already.

I was sorta with a deal surrounding Methot and Eberle.

But with Methtot a UFA in 60 games time, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Looking at the two rosters there's not a very good fit for a trade.

I agree.

the only way i see a deal working that's centered around methot and eberle is if there is a substantial conditional asset included.....not to mention the fact that another very good asset is included with methot, as he is nowhere close to being worth eberle straight up.

i just don't see a deal working with these teams.....so have so many similar needs.

the only position of strenght that ottawa has, that edmonton lacks, is goaltending. i can't see them moving either goalie unless the oilers are willing to pay a premium......as ottawa's success relies so heavily on their tenders right now.

And above all, I thin both teams should be generally adding talent. It's not like the Oilers are purely looking for the right mix at this point. They need to add key pieces as do the Sens to a lesser extent.

i personally think the oilers issue now is their inability to land free agents. you look at other teams, like the hawks, pens, kings, etc, who struggled for years and drafted lots of good young players....they were able to surround those young guys with quality UFAs. For whatever reason, the oilers aren't able to bring in that supporting cast and have to rely 100% on the kids.

I've personally never been to edmonton, so i don't know if it's the city people don't enjoy. maybe it's managment or ownership.....i have no idea. but until the team can start attracting some quality FA's, it's gonna be tough to take that next step. you obvioulsy don't want to trade the young quality guys that you've drafted, but at this point, it seems like the only way.

I would deal a package that included Andy in a heartbeat if it meant getting first line, or first pairing young talent in return.

One, we lack in that type of talent and two .... without Andy we slip in the standings and get a better pick in what is a continuation of the rebuild.

I would too....but i assume that murray's asking price would be more than edmonton would be willing to pay.

You can play in Edmonton where it goes down to -50 or you can play in Anaheim where you can go to the rink in shorts all year round...

Alberta has some of the same tax benefits that Florida does though......doesn't Cali pay some of the highest taxes in the US?

There are pros and cons to playing anywhere. It blows my mind that more people don't want to play in a hockey hot bed like Edmonton.

Standard Prock - constantly digging a deeper hole for himself. It used to surprise me that he kept coming back to these threads but after a while you become familiar with the garbage he posts and realize he is not even a decent troll. Then again, how can he be a decent troll when his favourite team is constantly providing copious amounts of comic relief for the league.

I'm not defending Prock, but at least he has enough balls to put a team under his name. You cheer for who?

Too bad it's not the team he actually cheers for: The Toronto Maple Leafs.

Having the Predators listed there actually makes him a coward.

I don't disagree but we all know who he cheers for. Safe to say it is common knowledge here. Not sure who Howehattrick or whatever his name cheers for.

I don't mind the bashing of the Leafs, I am fed up with them too.

Prock's a talented troll imo.
And entertaining. I don't think he's a total mindless moron like so many trolls that just come up with same word vomit we've all heard a thousand times. U can actually banter with him even if he is a smarmy fuker.

rather something tangible to debate than
"fire Eakins, u need to trade for our plug, oilers suck, hurr durrr, Emoticon"

I am a Senators fan. I looked a while back in my control panel but did not see where that setting was located. This forum is very poorly done. There are so many better platforms out there and available for free that it seems odd this style is still in use.

I rarely post but when I do it is usually in the Sens threads hence my unfortunate familiarity with Prock. For the record, I do not care to bash any teams' fans - it is a poor use of time. While admittedly also a poor use of time, I try to keep my "negativity" channeled to Prock who has made it his mission to troll Sens fans.
