Not going to lie. If your team actually knew how to play hockey. those would be pretty decent lines.

I like the forwards if Draisaitl was developed or they had a center like a Vermette/Plekanec.

They shouldn't have kept Draisaitl with the club. Setting him up to fail in his career IMHO.

I don't think it'll set him back too far, if he's as good as he's supposed to be he should figure it out eventually. I do agree that he isn't ready yet, they should trade for a stop gap center and let Draisaitl pay in Europe or something(I think he's proven enough in junior).

It's more of a 3A/3B

Matthias - Richardson - Kassian
Dorsett - Horvat - Hansen

- Nucker101

I think a lot of the league is trying to get this way.

"After seeing ex-Oilers netminder Devan Dubnyk pitch a shutout against Vancouver last week, I can't help but think that the struggles of the current tandem of Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth have more to do with the team's defensive system than they do with the goalies themselves."

Dubie was a decent goalie for a couple years then completely fell apart last year. He was Luongo beach-ball-bad (last year).

Yup, because scrub 4th lines with a goon or two on them that basically approach each shift like it's a 5v5 penalty kill are (frank)ing useless. The smart teams figured it out long ago, now more and more are catching on.

Umm, have you seen Luongo's career stats? His worst year is basically what Dubnyk would call a good year.

Gaping hole of NHLers at 2C and 3C. Can't win in the West with one offensive line and a shut down line (despite the great job the fourth line has done so far this year)

What's your point? There was a span when Luongo couldn't stop a beach ball... and Dubnyk was that bad for like the whole of last season.

I hope it doesn't. I was hoping he would still be there when Vancouver drafted last year. Constantly depending on high prospect rookies to carry your team though can't help their development. Eberle, Yakupov and Schultz all look less effective than when they entered the league. Being given a beat down for so long has an effect on the drive to succeed.

Taylor Hall might be the current exception on this team. He's a beast.

but don't tell that to other Oiler fans, the complete regression in EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY, with EVERY SINGLE PLAYER except Hall is not an idication of poopty coaching, just poopty players. Even though the suporting players on the Oilers are far better than they were under previous coaches. Not to mention an older and stronger core. But meh

Eakins and his ego...didn't want to sign with us as an assistant to Tortorella.

Imagine that tandem. Torts, Eakins running the show and Gillis doing his magic behind the scenes.

It's a 70's porn stache... all he needs is like the lame 70's porn music when he's introduced with a close-up of the 'stache and we have liftoff!
