Yeah, when people bring up Hitler, it's a real shame nobody mentions he eliminated unemployment in Germany. It's always the (frank)ing Holocaust.

To be honest, I am not surprised at all. In talking to members of the Flyers organization before the season about Stolarz, I was told in is going to be a very long development process with him. I was told he has come an extremely long way in his development since the summer of 2012 but had every bit as far still to go before being NHL ready.
I was also told at the time -- mind you, this when Knapp and Ouellette were still in camp and no one would openly say Zepp and Stolarz would be the Phantoms goalies no matter what the other two guys did -- that Stolarz was not an absolute slam dunk to open the season with the Phantoms.
I knew at that point it wasn't going to a 50-50 split between Zepp and Stolarz this year, especially early in the season.
At present, Zepp is simply the better goaltender by a large margin and deserves to start for the Phantoms. Thing is: even as raw as Stolarz still is, the organization has much, much more invested in his development than Connor Knapp and the eventual upside is higher. Oullette has really struggled in Reading.
As such, the plan right now seems to be to bring Stolarz along very slowly at the AHL level especially when there is a good veteran goaltender on hand in Zepp to handle the bulk of the starts this season. However, if it gets to a point where Stolarz would be used so infrequently for the Phantoms that the ECHL would make more sense just to get him playing time, then I think you might see him swap spots with Knapp for awhile. Stolarz has at least been good enough to develop in the Phantoms' backup role for awhile. - bmeltzer
Another reason to add another goalie to the system next June, stock pile players at every position. |

Perfect example is that MacDonald may be playing tonight. Now most fans would be happy to get one of the teams top defenseman back from injury. But instead, a comment is made that the teams play is going to get worse.

Sort of. People get upset about the negativity on here even when there's nothing to be positive about. We're in the midst of a pretty crappy season. What realist is going to rave about the future of our crop of d-men? People live in the present and the past most of the time. |

He does, but as with my example of Hitler & unemployment, he takes it too an extreme.
It's possible ignore people on this site, instead of constantly arguing about people being too negative. |

Before the break, the Flyers had won 3 games in a row, and had won 6 out of 8. But even then there was still tons of talk about all the mistakes that Berube was making. Still a bunch of comments about how the team is going no where, and will be a lottery team. And still the climate was negative. And the season could be a lot crappier. Even with the way this team has been so inconsistent, still plenty of time to turn it around, and still are within striking distance of a playoff spot. With the way the Flyers have played the last 3 games, I'd expect some frustration. But I'd also expect some enthusiasm and positive reflection when they're winning.

You completely missed what the point of mentioning a clique was about. It had zero to do with my point of view, or about always being right.
What it has to do with is influence, and a overwhelming negative tone towards the team, coach, and the organization as a whole, that has become the environment in here.
And cliques absolutely exist on internet discussion forums such as this. - MJL
What a load of crap you are trying to sell.
You wouldn't have labeled it a clique if you agreed with the perspective -- the only reason you are moaning about it is because you don't.
Would it be a clique if everyone was trying to blow sunshine up everyone else's asses and never said anything negative?
Of course it wouldn't. So because you don't like the tone and you don't agree with it, those you don't agree with are in a clique. |

Yep. I don't mind missing one last year, too good a draft to be mad about it. |

I agree, a lot to like from this past draft.
For 2015
MacKenzie Blackwood is one I like and watched, I could toss others out but haven't watched any.

What was the rumored Detroit offer for Myers? Not the one where the Sabres wanted Mantha. Was it Jurco, Larkin and a 1st? |

It would be interesting if Detroit made a similar offer for Coburn. Maybe Larkin and a 2nd. Is that unrealistic? |

"How it is" is that the Flyers have lost three straight, sit in 13th place in a 16-team conference that only qualifies eight teams, or in sixth-place in a division that automatically qualifies three or a maximum of five.
They have numerous injuries, the GM just ripped the team for its abysmal play, and they just got shutout by one of their most bitter rivals.
So, yeah, people are going to be pissed off. It's got nothing to do with what somebody said when they were winning, or said back in 1987, or when a previous GM was in place.
They are playing like crap, and some people respond to what they see.
