Maybe, but it wouldn't be too hard to find a package to accept from the Red Wings.

Haha, indeed. A team that feels they can float Nestrasil on waivers because they have too many kids.

I'd take Larkin alone

Yeah. Same.

That rumor seemed like a lot for Myers. Wings are pretty loaded with young forwards and could really used a veteran top 4 dman. Just kinda thinking out loud.

For the record, I would be comfortable moving forward with or without Coburn depending on the return they could get. I wouldn't be in 'move him at all costs mode' though.

Him alone is probably an overpayment.

Dominic Turgeon, Andreas Athanasiou, Tomas Nosek, Christoffer Ehn, or Tyler Bertuzzi are probably a likely list to pick from in my mind if they went just forwards.

"How it is" is that the Flyers have lost three straight, sit in 13th place in a 16-team conference that only qualifies eight teams, or in sixth-place in a division that automatically qualifies three or a maximum of five.

They have numerous injuries, the GM just ripped the team for its abysmal play, and they just got shutout by one of their most bitter rivals.

So, yeah, people are going to be pissed off. It's got nothing to do with what somebody said when they were winning, or said back in 1987, or when a previous GM was in place.

They are playing like crap, and some people respond to what they see.

The same negative environment was present when the Flyers won 3 in a row, and 6 out of 8 before the break. Every move the coach was making then was criticized also. Objectivity is about the good and the bad. This is just not about the last 3 games, its about how it's been all season.

Impressive speed, hands, & now becoming a better defensive player. Not to mention can get under the skin of other teams.

Eric Lindros had one of the most dominating performances I've ever seen by any hockey player, ever, March 18th, 1995 in Florida...a 4-3 OT victory over the Panthers.

http://www.hockey-referen...xscores/199503180FLA.html

The box-score, impressive as it is, doesn't do it justice. 88's physical domination and willful assertion of skill typified what he was all about, at his best on the ice. I recall him bowling people over behind the next to win pucks he would put home. On one goal, I think it was the game tying or OT winner, he was streaking down the high slot and took a pass in his skates that he deftly deflected up into the air in front of him before swatting it out of mid air and in the back of the net for a hat-trick. He had the flu that night. Amazing.

Anyone else remember this one?

IF ANYONE HAS THE VIDEO OF THAT GAME, OR KNOW WHERE I CAN GET IT, PLEASE MESSAGE ME. I had it on VHS from when I originally recorded the broadcast, but, uh, all my tapes got dried out/moldy.

Is Turgeon's kid really any good, or are all the superlatives a legacy thing w/ him?

That isn't true. People pointed out how well Voracek has played, and how well Emery played, and how Schenn rebounded from a tough start. MDZ was praised nearly from the start for how well he has performed. Bellemare has fans, and Nick Schultz has also been praised for his performance this season.

It's not "nonstop negativity" on this board. Some people like certain players and certain moves made more than others, and some people criticize what they see that they don't like. The coach and the GM and the players are human, as are the posters. All are fallible.

But to say it's nonstop negativity in here is just BS meant to quiet those who don't agree with every single thing the Flyers do, and it's garbage.

I can't recall that one specifically. There's been so many great Lindros moments. I remember a game I went to, when he was coming back from one of his early knee injuries, against Chicago. I'm not sure, but I think it was his rookie year. And when he came out for warmups, there was a buzz in the crowd of excitement. One play in the game stood out in particular. A player took a run at him in the Chicago offensive zone. He got up with smoke coming out of his ears, and the entire crowd knew what was next. He skated full bore up ice, and just destroyed the player. What a combination of size, skill, and toughness.

It's not 100% negative, just about 90%. And it's not BS. The climate on this forum is overwhelmingly negative towards the Flyers as a whole. Certain players that are well liked are always going to get their props. But there is just a group here that have influence, that set the tone. And it's a shame, it really is. Pretty much any move that Berube makes gets criticized, is just one example. MacDonald is playing tonight. A statement was already made that the team's play is going to get worse. Perfect example.
All you have to do to know what the truth is, is to read the thread every day. It's in black and white.

I personally don't agree with everything the Flyers are doing. And if you think the intention is to quiet those who don't agree with every single thing the Flyers do. Well that's foolish. Because one person doesn't have that power.

The bad news is no MDZ, but both MacDonald & Schenn could help the PK

They gotta split up Grossmann and Coburn on the PK.

(frank) yes. That pair has been bad. Coburn's getting the bulk of the blame, but Grossmann has struggled, too.

More realistic version would be:

"NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN THE TEAM."
"Unless your name is Vincent Lecavalier."
"And if your name is Erik Gustafsson or Jason Akeson, just forget about it."
"WE KIND OF TOTALLY CARE WHO YOU ARE"

Coburn has gotta pick it up. I love the guy and by definition, a PK means you are facing adversity, but he just has to pick it up

They really need him to be the Top 3 defenseman he is
