He seemed to energize VLC too.
I thought that line was pretty good at times. - Marc D
Much better. Laughton made a difference.

Just watched the replay to verify what I saw. MacDonald turned it over, but Zucker was Luke Schenn's man. He had him, got caught watching the puck, and Zucker went to the net uncovered. It was man to man coverage there, and Zucker was Luke Schenn's man. - MJL
So Schenn didn't change or need to change on the fly because we just got finished blaming Read. |

One of the more noticible differences tonight was the physical play. They were up on their skates and really looking to punish the defenders in the corner. I think that's a key for this Flyers team, they seem to play well when they are looking to make hits. They just need to dance that line to stay out of the box. - Roytastic
that's what bothers me about this team right now ... they seem SO concerned with not taking penalties that they often don't follow through on hits, or play the gritty hockey that's necessary to win games. |

I don't follow what you're saying. I don't think Read has any blame there. He dropped down from his point coverage to try and get there. It was Schenn's man.
Even after the turnover, it should've been a simple case of recovering and getting the puck back. The play was contained at one point, with every Wild player covered. Then it broke down. |

I like the optimism. And it's far too early to write off any team, but I'd be shocked if they get in. I'm ok with calling it what it is.... an evaluation and building year. IMHO, it's a year long tryout for everyone. |

With the NHL salary Cap, it can't be a tryout year for everybody.

Schenn wasn't covering anyone. Looked prepared for a cross crease but wasn't watching his his guy. I see it now. |

The Wild scored 3 goals.
One was a PP goal, where 3 Flyers including the two forwards up top wound up on the same side of the ice. Giving an easy cross ice passing lane for a one timer that beat Emery. Fundamental mistake.
Second goal was a wide open defenseman blasting a shot past Emery. What Lecavalier was doing there, I have no idea. Just a pathetic play. He's up around the blue line, above the defenseman. He must have been cheating on the breakout, but the Flyers never had sound possession of the puck. Just a ridiculous blown coverage. Not hard to stay in front and cover the point man
Third goal was a turnover leading to zone possession time. With a goal scored on a blown coverage by Luke Schenn who was caught puck watching.
3 fundamental errors that cost the Flyers the game! |

Our best player last night was not even in the line up tonight.
Mason is our #1 goalie there is no reason why he can't play back to back games as this team has had long gaps this year.
He may have made a difference. Why not roll with him as he was spectacular the night before - 3flyerkids
Cause last time they did that he got shelled for 5 goals and went on a downward spiral that lasted weeks.

Berube said the same thing in his press conference and I do agree with him. He also said that Mac should have kept the puck moving along. |

I'm frustrated. One because I don't understand why this team can't play with the intensity they played with tonight, on a regular basis. And I'm frustrated that they keep making fundamental basic errors to lose hockey games. This team if they'd fix those issues, would be solidly in a playoff spot. They have 64 games to go. No reason why those issues shouldn't be cleaned up. And no reason why this team shouldn't make the playoffs.

Ho hum, if they're not gonna win one for Leclair and Lindros, might as well lose one for McDavid |

Plus Emery still has one more victory on the season over Mason. I get wanting Mason in every night but he's also no Martin Brodeur in his prime. We have two capable goalies, the team just has to play the way we know they are capable of.

My mistake on defending Schenn on the third goal, even though the fault does weigh heavily on MacDonald's shoulders. I find it interesting that the two defenseman returning to the line up are on the ice together with less than a minute left of the game. |

Who needs enemies when you have parents like these. Can't help but feel bad for the guy.

It's (frank)ed up is what it is.
Your parents are supposed to help you. Not undermine you.
That article makes me angry, as a parent, that someone could (frank)ing do that to their kid. |

Yep I don't have any kids myself but I still don't understand how parents of some of these athletes and child actors take advantage and exploit their kids. You should want nothing but the best for your children. |

Mason has been hands down the better goalie this year. At least 2 or 3 of his loses would be wins if his team gave him any type of support.

No, you get it just fine, which makes you someone that should probably procreate.
You'd be amazed at the number of people I know with children that think nothing of pushing the kids out of the nest at a young age. |

I was there and the Flyers did us all proud, trust me.
Johnny Leclair addressing his mom about his dad pretty much broke me.
Bringing in Renberg was genius. Loved that guy.
And Eric was Eric. Awkward. Sincere, almost to a fault. His wife and kid were goddamm beautiful.
I was so happy to cheer those guys on once again. I barely cared how the game ended. |

seriously. i feel like today parents are either one extreme or the other.
its either oh you can walk? well good luck kid.
or OMG! my johnny learned his colors at age 16 so here is a beamer.
the world needs more parents that are willing to not hand the world to their children, but who still realize that they mean the world to them. |

Yea I've run into a lot of parents that just make me shake my head. I get wanting your kid to be able to stand on their own but the parents are the ones that need to lay down the foundation to support them. And also make sure that foundation isn't held together by duct tape and a wish and call it a day. |

Well, step 1 in being a parent is realizing that they have their own lives.
Step 2 is coaching them up to being productive members of society.
If you need to be told poop like "love your kids for who they are" or "don't steal from your kids", you probably shouldn't procreate.

Exactly. As a parent, I feel compelled to teach him how stuff works. That's what being a parent is about. |
