Well, step 1 in being a parent is realizing that they have their own lives.

Step 2 is coaching them up to being productive members of society.

If you need to be told poop like "love your kids for who they are" or "don't steal from your kids", you probably shouldn't procreate.

But I'll tell you: Being a parent is far and away the best thing I do. My job doesn't compare and when I was younger, my career was all I cared about.

Many people cannot make that transition and it's hard to watch, because parents will justify their behavior under tough love. They'll invoke "helicopter parenting" as a pejorative.

i understand. and i am very happy that you get that joy out of it. really, unless people do, they shouldnt have kids.

i understand im no where near ready for that undertaking, but i really do look forward to it. i do just worry about bringing a life into what this future likely will be though.

Craziest friggin thing ive seen in a long time, no hyperbole

near the end of warm ups, a flyer drilled three rockets about 2 feet off the ic from the top circle at the net on the far end. Dead bullseyes. I couldnt tell who it was, then i saw his back....COBURN. ....then kicker, he turns to the net, cant be more than 40 ft away and cant hit it......

i felt like Steven Baldwin in The Usual Suspects when he emerges with the knife in his back says " i just saw the strangest thing" and drops dead
