True - i think Bealieu is a little further along then those guys (Marincin being the closest - probably biased here though) but even if they do having another strong D is very valuable.

Gallagher may not be the piece to add as you need a 2C - i was just thinking of a good player who could potentialy be used in a trade. I dont think the habs would be open to moving Pleks or Eller at the moment so unless you'd want Desharnais i dont know if they'd move a C. But fair enough - just trying to gauge another fan bases interest. I think the value there isnt lightyears apart and honestly would moving Yak for two NHL ready young players make the oilers worse right now? They arent exactly using Yak to the best of his abilities it seems (but yes i acknowledge in 3 years it could look like a severely lopsided trade)

Beaulieu and Tinordi are about as NHL ready as Marincin and Klefbom. They just cause a logjam and turn one strength (LHD prospects) into a greater strength, and another strength (RW depth) into an area of weakness.

Grebs and Belov were sort of neutral moves. Dart board moves that didn't help or hurt us that much.

As much as Scrivens/Fasth is ugly right now, it really pales in comparison to thinking Labarbara was enough to sure up the goaltending last year.

And the real ugliest move is one that never happened: David Clarkson.

Looking for him to come to his senses a bit and unload Nikitin for nothing. Above all else, ridding ourselves completely of that cap hit is a necessity for this offseason whether we keep Petry or not.

No Morris, you're wrong. Labarbera is probably better at meeting back up goalie expectations than a ribbons and Fasth are at meeting starter or even tandem expectations.
Also, if I made a column for 'Neutral' moves that's where almost all of Mac T's moves take us. Nowhere forward, stuck in neutral.
Actually that's what I'm gonna start calling him, "Neutral MacTaint" until he proves otherwise.

We've got tough decisions this summer, and it won't entirely be about Pouliot but since he's one of the newest signings, he's under the spotlight more.

I guess people's frustrations are that a team this bad shouldn't have to make those kinds of decisions. Not to mention beyond maintaining this roster, we actually want to improve it.

Either that or the plan is to maybe improve the over all play gradually, pick up some good prospects and wait until the 2018-19 when Draisaitl and Nurse are fully developed and Schultz can actually play defense.

I had to call you out on it. I don't blame you for being pissed off at what is happening. I'm not happy about it either. Maybe I'm slowly becoming complacent with the poop level of the Oilers (which i shouldn't be).
