Depends on salary demands and trade return. Can't pay Coburn $6mm
- Jsaquella

Well,, if they're willing to pay AMac $4.5M for 6 years...

I get to see JVR all the time. Some nights his does really well (like last night), but surprisingly a lot of nights he just floats around. I am going to assume this is why the flyers traded him.

No more than 4 per

When he gets healthy. Who is getting scratched?

- Just5

Can't be Sargent Schultz, he has been their most consistent Dman

I think very highly of the player, and I don't want to move him, but unless you are willing to move a cost-contained Del Zotto who is younger, or take less return on the younger Luke Schenn...

MacDonald is signed, and Hextall had to be onboard with that, to some degree. Doesn't mean he loves it, but he had to be onboard...MacDonald has also shown he can play with Schenn...

Again, I love Coburn. But sometimes, if you are going to make a move, cash in the biggest asset...and I do think he gets the biggest return of them all

If Coburn can get them a 1st at the deadline, you have to really consider moving him.

If somebody gets hurt from a contender, you might get more than that -- he is signed for next year

It will be an interesting decision. I'm thinking it will be Schultz. No merit to it I just think he's odd man out in berubes eyes

That's what I'm hoping for, a desperate contender willing to move a 2015 1st and a 2016 2nd.

That would be the starting point.
Rumor was they already turned down two second round picks from Edm

all 6 D were pretty good except the awful play by Amac at the end and the failure of Luke to pick him up after the turnover.

In reality the other likely outcome is they would have lost in the shoot out.
Should have won that game though.

- Marc D

Have to stop losing games they should win. If you thoroughly out play a team you should win. effort issues and coverage mistakes are killing this team.

That is definitely the easy answer, and I don't think it is the wrong answer.

But just say you wanted to free up a couple of dollars off the cap, too -- keeping Schultz in the lineup and moving one of the other defensemen other than Del Zotto, because they make about the same, is the way to go

I personally think that the Flyers are going to be a playoff team, so I don't see them trading Coburn at the deadline. I think they'll trade a defenseman in the off season, but I don't think it will be Coburn. But I could be wrong.

You are probably right as there would be no merit to it what so ever. He is playing almost 20min a night and is a + 4. That is pretty good on this team.

Maybe they make a trade due to the play of Schultz. He is no superstar but he has done his job on a nightly basis.

Hey if RJ Hamburglar gets regular shifts from this coach anything is possible

Coburn would more than likely be their #1 d-man. You have to milk that tit on hold on to him.

Schultz or schenn for schure

Schenn is the younger guy, and in the grand scheme of things, probably should be playing

If Giroux continues firing the puck at this pace, I think he could hit 100 points.
- johndewar

Giroux still is yet to hit full stride IMO. That's scary. He'll need to go on a tear like last season if the Flyers have any chance of making the playoffs.

But who can argue the way Shultz has been playing? It would be a shame to see him scratched for being one of their most solid D-men this season..

But then again, I'm a firm believe in rewarding good play.. not playing who is making more. I personally don't care if one guy is making $8mil/year while another guy is making $700k per year... if the $700k is outplaying the $8mil guy, I'm playing him. You're paying them both either way, why not put the guy out who is going to actually help your team win??

But I digress..
