With and without Schenn, the Flyers have been near the top of the league in PK for multiple years leading into this one. Their struggles in the three games he was out had nothing to do with him not being there. That's not to say he is not a good PKer and valuable to have in that rotation, because he is.

It just seemed they were completely brutal after he went down. He's not a god on the PK, but he does block some shots and it seemed to me the PK was tentative when he was out. So in your assessment were they simply not working hard enough/not clearing the zone when they had a chance?

I feel Nick Schultz has been a player who has been under the radar.
IMO he has been the Flyers best Dman all year. He just goes out and plays a solid conservative game. ( please watch him AMac)
Colaiacovo has also been solid during his time. I will give Hextall full props for the pick up of these two along with MDZ. However we still need some kind of shakeup on this team

I thought it was pretty bad. They ended up with both forwards on the right side because VandeVelde didn't rotate over to the left as Umberger pressured the puck.

I liked that Rinaldo tried to come out and set a tone. ALso i have liked how he has been playing and not taking penalties. Also he seems to be doing well on PK.

More and more I am thinking that maybe moving Coburn might not be a bad idea. I don't think our defense is so much better with him then withuut and he might be a valuable asset to a team looking for defense.

I'm not sure what the rotation is supposed to be there, when the forwards get in a 1-1 tandem there. If Umberger is supposed to follow the puck over with Vandevelde rotating to the weak side. Or if Umberger should drop back and switch with Vandevelde on the puck.

Let's have a larger sample size before coming to that conclusion. Get Del Zotto back and have every defenseman in the right role. Coburn played a solid game last night.

No team is more talented than the Panthers.

I have to question the decision to put 2 dmen, one with a sore shoulder and one playing his first game in weeks on the ice protecting a lead in the last minute of a game. I also have to question the decision to have Grossmann on the ice with the top line with under 7 minutes left in a game you are trailing.
