I know someone who has done all those things you mention!!!!
He /it wears # 18 ! - 3flyerkids
And he's not the only one who has made those mistakes. But none of that means that Rinaldo is a better player then Umberger is, because he isn't. And really, how many have campaigned against Rinaldo and wanted him out of the lineup. And complained about the two year extension. Now he's being defended. |

Actually, it was Umberger or Lecavalier. If you could only trade one, who would you choose to trade? I choose Lecavalier.

Rinaldo didn't lose a puck battle along the D-zone halfboards to Max Talbot that led to a goal. Rinaldo hasn't repeatedly iced the puck when he's a couple strides short of the red line. Rinaldo hasn't blown coverages or been caught flat footed for loose pucks on a regular basis - Jsaquella
Rinaldo makes 3.85 mil less. |

Only one person on this board could take someone saying "none of them should be playing, but if I have to choose one, it would be Rinaldo" and turn it into a diatribe against other posters just because they don't agree with the one poster |

No brainer. Trade vinny. Umbergers buyout is much easier to swallow |

Another good reason. But to be fair, I was kind of looking at it, without the cap hit factor. Because if Cap hit is brought into it, even though Umberger is a better player then Rinaldo is. I'd take Rinaldo simply because of the cost, and value aspect. |

Vinny as well.
Provided I wouldn't have to throw in a 2nd rounder to get the deal done. |

I understand that. He's been a big disappointment this season to this point. The Flyers expected to get a 3rd line winger who plays the game the right way, plays solid defense, and can chip in with some offense. They haven't gotten that player. Instead they've gotten an inconsistent player, who shows pretty much zero offensive ability. - MJL
I disagree that is what Umberger was bought in here for or that is what Flyers expected of him. He has been stellar in his role. |

My rationale is simply this. Even if Umberger isn't scoring, he can still contribute on the 4th line, and play on the PK. If Lecavalier isn't scoring, he is of no value to a team. But now of course that has morphed into another can of worms.

Ha! I'm focused and ready for my next shift, Coach
Just saying that reminds e of a hilarious story Ray Ferraro told on TSN Radio a few days back, about pissing off a coach and getting benched
Ferraro said he kept looking back at the coach, wanting him to know that yeah, he (frank)ed up, but he was still focused and ready to get back on the ice and atone
But it had the opposite effect; he only made the coach madder, until finally Ferraro turned around and the coach said, "What the hell are you looking at?!"
Ferraro, who was a young player at the time, said he said, "Nothing, sir" -- and didn't turn around again |

I agree that, unless somebody comes to you and knocks your socks off with an offer, that the only time to deal Coburn is the TDL or summer...unless the tailspin continues and you can make a good value trade in the next few weeks. - Jsaquella
In return for Coburn, should we get a prospect, this prospect better be near NHL ready too. |

Well he made another great play last night to get the scoring going.
From an offensive standpoint, I'm not worried about Vinny. With this said, I'd deal him before Umberger because of the length of Umberger deal, his age, his ability to stay healthy and his versatility up front. He can play all three positions up front, better defensively and can play on all three lines. All of which ideal for Umberger but he's been garbage lately. |

I still believe that Lecavalier can score, and can make plays with the puck. But he needs a player to get him the puck. Which we really don't have. The problem is that Lecavalier can't do much else. He was making an effort to get better defensively earlier in the year, but that has since waned. His blown coverage and losing his point man is inexcusable. |

His problem is. He knows he has to produce offensively, that's why he signed here. He is cheating out there on the ice. You can see it. He doesn't have the wheels or the core strength. So whether it be cheating up the ice, not engaging in battles for being afraid of gettingout of position and not recovering, you name it Berube is so pissed he has to ice this guy. |

His offense is good. I can already tell people are going to dislike him because he doesn't look like a guy who is giving max effort all the time. Thats just the way he plays though. He's giving effort. He just doesn't look like it sometimes. That's my opinion at least. Others my feel differently. I think he has a chance to make the team next year.
Stolarz is playing tonight and he's having his best game as a pro thus far. I think it's only his 4th game of the year. |
