He did, with the exception of not covering his point. - MJL
I like Lecavalier but I thought he only looked alright outside of a smart heads up play to Streit. I think Simmonds has been the worst for covering his point of all wingers so far. |

They won't. I don't think the Oilers are good trading partners for the Flyers. They aren't looking to move youth or first rounders unless it's a top pairing dman or top line center. - PhillySportsGuy

Voracek for a younger roster player and a high level prospect right around the corner from playing in the NHL? |

He's one of the best wingers in hockey. Coburn is a top 4 defenseman. |

They've done a poor job with all the talent they have had. From what the media says, MacTavish is difficult to deal with, say he overvalues his guys. - Jsaquella
I mean, we saw it yesterday. Dillon for Demers. Two NHL defensemen who GMs felt could help their teams now, so they made a move.
I just don't get how Edmonton can't find that, in-season. I'm not saying get bent over. But how can you have two five-game losing streaks in the first 20 games of the season and not do anything? With their history?

That's a strange one. I don't like that for Dallas. Demers is a solid guy, I think Dillon could be a really good defenseman. |

I hear you -- but at least both teams looked around and said, "You know what? What we have just isn't working. I'm going to take a little risk and try changing one player out."
And those were both playoff teams last year!
With Edmonton, you'd think they're the 10-time defending Cup champions, with the way they hang onto people

I wonder if the Flyers can get a pick for Akeson or if they can get him through waivers. No reason to keep him here. The coach isn't going to use him, might as well see if he has value or give the Phantoms more firepower |

Far more consistent scorer than Nik was. He doesn't look like it, but he's also a pretty hard worker. - Jsaquella
Ah for sure.

That's what I'd do -- it's OK for the coach to not want to use him, but send him down or move him along

Watching 24/7 last year, he seemed to be a pretty good guy. Bit quiet, keeps to himself, but seemed to be good buddies with most of the guys |

He's not an exceptional two way player, and the concussion history is worrisome, but he's good with the puck, can score goals and has good speed. Also has good cap hit for this year and next.
Preferably, they could get a 1st rounder and prospect, but I can't see Edmonton trading it's first rounder unless they got an out and out stud defenseman - Jsaquella
Coburn and Couturier for their first and Ehlers. We can then draft Hanifin with their pick and Strome with ours
PS: I know Edmonton would never go for it

Edmonton has no shortage of talent. If I'm them, you keep together Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle at all costs but one has to assume Justin Shultz and Nail Yakupov could get them whatever they want. Even Jeff Petry, David Perron and Benoit Pouliot can bring you back something. |

I'm not saying his play has warranted a spot for him, but I also feel that he's been miscast-he's not going to be effective in an energy line role, and needs to play with more skilled guys.
Let's face it, if level of play was a requirement for being used in a better manner, Umberger would be handing out popcorn and Lecavalier would be centering Zac and VandeVelde |

Same difference; they identified a need and addressed it, paid the price and are moving on.

It would help to have a player that is an improvement to the player that is getting scratched. Akeson just hasn't cut it.

Has to be a fit on both sides. Especially with defense.
