True. My recent rants and persistant efforts to pursue trading Hall and criticism of MacTaint and his tiny little raisin balls is putting me dangerously close to Alex-Oil/SpoiledbyOil and Needsmorehorsecock levels of annoying. - Jeropotato
Nah.
You're entitled.
Youre still seeing the big picture, and not neccasarily blaming one single thing because it's any number of problems. And probably all of them combined into one big cluster fuk. But U just want changes. And that makes sense.
I'm pissed and so over it too. I want a move ASAP. But I think now's the time where losing our head will completely fuk us.
I'm convinced Mact is furiously trying to make a deal. But the fact that a deal hasn't been made is one of two things;
He hasn't been offered fair value
And/or
Is expecting too much.
If it's the first, I'm glad he's actually trying to make a prudent move instead of panicking.
If it's the second, he'll come down to earth and make a deal once it's apparent no one is going to give him what he wants.
But trying to get that value is better than accepting less off the hop. |

I'm ok with losing a trade 'talent wise' or actual output, as long as we improve in the areas we need.
It's not the sexiest trade by any means, but a healthy coburn helps us more than yakupov does right now for example.
Would it hurt to see yaks pot 35 next year? Maybe. But if we had a solid dcore and were in the hunt for the playoffs with a reasonable top pairing of petry and coburn and lower minutes for Schultz and ference, plus some solid nhl experience for nurse/klefbom/marincin (plus another year closer to them being those true experienced impact defenders we hoped)
it's a solid deal for us - hugefemale dog77

Is that the rumoured deal? I don't know, I think Philly would have to add a little bit, like Matt Read, but I would probably do it. |

No.
Ek just mentioned coburn.
No names were mentioned on our side.
Just a hypothetical where we lose a kid with high potential for a guy that has some drawbacks for different reasons. Some fans wouldn't like it if it happened. And that's kinda the point.
It's no secret we've liked coburn for ages, but us being any closer to acquiring him is all guesswork |

Build around Hall unfortunately. He should be wearing the C and telling management what we need.
Ebs and Yak can both go for immediate team needs. Dangle them out there and add draft picks. I could care less if they go out and put up 60/70 point seasons with their new team.
If SJ is blowing things up.... do whatever it takes to get Big Joe. Move Nuge down to the 2nd line. Imagine Joe teaching Nuge/Leon how to be a complete Centre/Pro, etc.
Something needs to happen because this team just doesn't have it. I'm tired of the "process" - nanook82
Why can't we switch gears and build around Nuge? I'm not saying we should trade or we must trade Hall but why is Hall, our greatest trade chip, off limits? What's the worst that will happen? We already know he'll be a PPG player for the next 10 or more seasons, how much worse can we get? Demand a high price and see what we get.
Tell me if this does not make us a better team.

Not that Lowetide is plugged in or anything but he and his co-host today were saying he expects a deal with Philly or Columbus in a week.
Well. Anyway. Apparently the Jackets could use a winger.
Hypothetically if it is Eberle being dangled, I wonder how severe or hampering that six million dollar contract is considered. Poop I wonder if a guy like Ebs at that price even garners interest in the here and now.
Jesus-Santa, our upcoming schedule is nasty. The first 19 were very favorable for an above .500 record.

I don't agree.
That's a massive return.
In fact, I bet Cbj doesn't do it.

Possibly but if we could get a return like this shouldn't MacT entertain it? I think it makes us better today and for theft 7-10 years. |

Well if you put it that way, then nobody should be untouchable on this team. And you're right.... how much worse can it actually get??
This just in.... Buffalo ties Edm with 14 points :ash:
edit: I think CBJ would do that trade in a heartbeat. |

Oooorrrr it could go terribly wrong and Jenner, Dubinsky and Murray suffer career ending injuries
Nah, it would make us better though. |
