CC's schtick always seemed to be assholish rage and over the top punishment in bag skates. Didn't seem to fly with the pros. - AdamFrench
There are a lot of Junior coaches that go that way. Same with college coaches in the NFL.
You can't boss around and intimidate a team of highly paid athletes the way you can with a bunch of kids. It can maybe work for a little, but it won't last. |

Ya, those guys tend to be good/decent assistant coaches at the NHL level. Only successful ones are Laviolette who gets canned after 3 years for it and Torts...and Torts rapes offensive production. |

Not being a troll here . Edmonton was always one of my favorite teams back to the WHA . What is it going to take to right the ship? Is the house going to have to be cleaned or a major trade ? Edmonton fans are as loyal as they come and do not deserve efforts like last night in their home building . And does your owner have the fortitude to make what changes need to be made ?
We feel your pain in Buffalo as things are not any better here . But this new GM seems to have a plan. |

It's funny to think about what each player thinks is the problem.
Hall: "Everyone born before the fall of the Berlin wall on this team sucks"
Perron: "man Hall and Eberle would be so much better if they weren't afraid of getting the cycle going"
Petry: "It'd be nice to see any of you (frank)s back on defense sometimes".
Ference: "It starts with cultivating a winning environment. and by that I mean trying to save the environment. And something about gay pride I think?"
Schultz: "This team is really letting me down" - Morris
I don't know if u were joking or serious but I think this is actually the real problem with this team.

Was sort of being facetious but you kind of get a sense that everyone's finger-pointing and some are more right than others. |

I would love to suit up for the Oil and in the intermission beat the crap out of Justin Schultz right on the crest in the middle of the room. No words, no nothing...just close his face and sit back down in my stall.
1. I don't think anyone on the current team has the nuts to jump in and stop it.
2. It would spark a bit of life in the room
3. Maybe people would get a clue that this is something real, not a game of shinny (i.e. the fkn janitor in row 415 depends on you a'holes and if they move the team because of YOU (point at any random slacker in the room (take your pick)) he'll be out of a job. |

It's astonishing that these guys are paid millions, and they're treating it like a joke... There's no way they are trying their best out there. If that's their best, we probably have 2-3 guys who should be in the NHL. It's ridiculous, and it's a slap in the face to all the hard-working people in the real world who actually have to put some effort into their jobs. |

I, as well as most here were stoked with some added size to the roster but this team is so beyond fixing its ridiculous. Once again I was duped by the Oilers.
What MacTavish will do:
- 2nd round pick for a #4/5 dman, and draft Hanifin in the summer
What I want him to do:
1) Return Draisaitl to junior
2) Call up Lander for the time being
3) Trade Ference + pick for Mike Richards - i think he can recover a bit if he leaves LA, offensively anyway.
4) Move Eberle for a dman - a lot of people think breaking up Eberle and Hall will be bad for Hall, in all honesty, I'm starting to think keeping them together is an obvious problem
I'd try Eberle + 2nd + Marincin for Josi + Forsberg
5) Trade Schultz for a shooter tutor as our backup goalie
6) Move that 1st round effin pick for dman like Bogosian (top 5 protect it)
Hall Richards Yak
Pouliot Nuge Forsberg
Perron Arco Purcell
Wagon line
Josi bogosian
Klefbom Fayne
Aulie Nikitin
Scrivens
Shooter Tutor
Is this an improvement? I have no idea, but it's not the hot garbage we are used to watching night in and night out. Oh and Schultz would be gone.
Edit: As for trading that first, it would have to be NOW. Waiting any longer then I wouldn't move it for a guy like bogosian. It'd have to be more sure fire. |

Oh. Oh no.
This is the worst.
I am biased though. I think Suzuki is hypocritical pond scum.
Also, I think the missing safe word in the Gomeshi harem was "David Suzuki"
EDIT: Just looked at the image again - hate it more. Fukk you so much Ference. |

I just get the feeling that playing hockey is his second job. If Oilers management held a tree hostage during each game, Ference would be a (frank)ing beast. |

It's (frank)ing ridiculous! It's nice he gives a sh1t about the environment, but I don't see him as the kinda guy who will call others out... Why was he named captain? Because he came from a good team? |

Went to Brewsters to watch the game. I've never seen a place with booze be so depressing. People were actually asking to watch the Flames game instead. - DTF69

Oilers presser this morning. Yesssssss. Knee-jerk moves are the best kind of moves. When they don't involve your team, of course. |
