I would say that OEL, Doughty, Suter, Giordano and Keith are all as good if not better, with Pietrangelo, Subban, Karrlson not in the same class. - Jeropotato

All this bullpoop about acquiring the Schenns is just moronic.
That's going to help the Oilers? Acquiring a pair of unestablished brothers and treating them like a package deal. We've already got enough sects in the locker room the happiness of whom apparently depends on how you treat their friends.
No more of that poop. - Morris
Agreed...it's like trying to put a fire out with gasoline and woodchips. |

Im not saying they should trade Hall but they need to trade at least one of the top guys. Things can't get much worse if you do since they have finished at the bottom for at least the last 4 years. The main problem is with the GM, you can't build a team with the same type of players that are top draft picks. They need to make some changes and get some character guys in. And you can't say if you that if you trade hall/ebs/nuge etc that you need an impact player because non of these players have proven anything. Yes they are skilled but a lot of players in the league are skilled. - bhawks86
How much worse did the Oul play without Hall? Not much
How bad are the Oilers without a number 1 defender? 3rd last in the league. |

Are you saying Ference is the problem because he is on the team or just because he is the captain? Just to clarify. - Dangles13
Captain. I think he's a decent enough last pairing d man. Although a bit small and VERY easy to play against...but he's not the problem as a player...just the wrong choice as captain. |

I agree with your opinion on guys trying to be the hero, doing too much which translates into big steaming piles of poop. Their has to be a fracture or two in that room preventing this thing from righting itself.
They need someone with massive balls to grab the reigns and take no prisoners. MacT has to stop polishing Tambellini's turds. - jazzca1974
Taylor Hall is the poster boy for that poop. |

I would never trade Hall...he's a winner and perhaps has TOO M U CH passion. But I'd like to see him as the second or even third best on a team....not the 20yr old saviour...too much pressure |

Meh none of these guys bring the nasty/dirty play that Weber can. His point shot
Is world class as well. That being said any guy mentioned would take the team to the next level |

I think he might be. I am not denying his awesomeness, he's our best individual player and offensive weapon.
I do question his willingness to buy in to the team game and play with discipline. I also feel like perhaps management and coaching are somewhat concerned with his comfort and happiness, partially out of fear that they can't attract talent of that magnitude, so since they have one, they need to handle him gently (and same goes for his friends). I don't know if it's true but it could be.
Plus it's an option nobody seems willing to explore. Why not ?
We seem to more interested in having awesome players than having an awesome team at times. |
