to waste the prime years of Giroux, Voracek amd mason is a (frank)ing crime imo - JoeRussomanno
The help, where they really need it is the back end. Took too long for that to be addressed and the team is now stuck in a disconnect in regards to age.
A forward core nearly ready to fully establish itself with a couple of tweaks but a defense core waiting on its prospects.
That back end is a mess and needs an overhaul. Days of FA are dead and trading Couturier just opens up another hole up front. His return wont be enough to fix the back end imo. |

Yes, that needs to be changed up. But as has been said, Raffl being out is complicating all sorts of moves. Just because a certain poster says it doesn't make it not true.

I have been watching the Flyers since 1968 and other than Giroux, Voracek and Mason this team is one of the worst I have seen |

I had no issues with how the d played tonight..
I had issues with the fact that beyond the first line the flyers have literally 0% offensive threat right now..and that includes the almighty I mean Couturier.

I think what ticks me off the most is I know this team is better than what was out there tonight. By no means am I say Cup contender, but damn, it felt like we were on the PK the entire last half of the 3rd |

They sat back and weathered the storm. Even if you're not as good, you can do more than just hang on until the cavalry arrives. The inability to pass out of the zone is poor execution. Losing the majority of the puck battles and races to loose pucks is intensity.
Mason is the only reason they got the point. - Jsaquella
I think they did what they had to do to get out of there with a point. They really beared down in the d zone. I thought it was tremendous concentration to not let up so many A quality chances. Lots of B chances.
This team stinks. We have to remember that. What the hell is a coots or g to do when your short a forward not counting vinny, umberger, Rinaldo? Every single islander forward is better than those 3 |

They're gonna try to ride it out this week until Raffl gets back, hope that helps
It could, if he's ready to rock
Hope they don't drop points all week before that happens and we find out |

I can stay patient with a very young 2nd line... but combined with the tire fire of a 3rd line... sonething needs to change. |

Rinaldo? Every single islander forward is better than those 3 - Just5
You are right..We need less of a player like Rinaldo that skates hard , throws the body and tries vs Couturier and Read who do absolutely what again? Maybe Akegretzky would solve the problem.

For real? Halak's first star?
I'm impressed -- that level of homerism is (frank)ing outstanding - AllInForFlyers
Stars of the game are always ridiculously biased. Mason definitely shouldve been of course. |

Woof -- I kinda think Del Zotto's been good, and Streit
Baby Schenn's had his moments, Grossmann's been what Grossmann's gonna be
But yeah, if you squint hard enough, there's some odor in a few spots. Some guys just aren't doing enough. It's that simple |

You'd like to see him show more offensive flashes for sure. It took Brayden Schenn this long, even if he is playing with the two war horses up front.
Couturier just looks slow as (frank) to me to be honest. Still good, but whatever. - flyer_nutter
Just let him be a handzus/ j Staal type. I'm happy with that. Other people want the stars and moon for the kid |

Yup, I like Rino on the team and think he's a great 4th liner. How about that pass from G to Rino to Bellemare? The problem is, we essentially have a top line and 3 other meh lines. |

I just gave Raffl his props -- I don't agree with him much, but I do on that |

There's nothing we can do with Vinny and Crumberger. Can't cut and can't trade them because nobody wants em. Stuff em of the 4th? Maybe. But that's a hell of a lot of money tied up in very little ice time. |

Nope..I certainly don't want the stars and the moon for him but nothing about Handzus was ever untradeable and certain people here go full on "trade giroux and jake before you trade couturier"

That was disgusting. We couldn't get the puck from them. It was a pee wee team against an NHL team. |

They allowed a ton of a quality chances. They chased the puck 90% of the game. Playing defense because you can't get the puck out of your own end isn't doing what you have to do to get a point, it's getting your ass handed to you and being lucky your goalie was on fire.
