I have been watching the Flyers since 1968 and other than Giroux, Voracek and Mason this team is one of the worst I have seen - vejim

You are right..We need less of a player like Rinaldo that skates hard , throws the body and tries vs Couturier and Read who do absolutely what again? Maybe Akegretzky would solve the problem. - opeth_pa
Yeah your right 25 mins for coots he didn't try a second of it. You know what. Let's go with 10 forwards!! Scratch his ass! |

Yup, I like Rino on the team and think he's a great 4th liner. How about that pass from G to Rino to Bellemare? The problem is, we essentially have a top line and 3 other meh lines. - wolfhounds
That pretty much sums it up perfectly..a top line and 3 other meh lines.. |

I like Laughton's game, but I wouldn't start him in the SO.. I would have gone jake, Laughton G. |

Im not saying scratch him ..Im saying in a 0-0 game one of your least performing offensive players should not lead the team in ice time. |

I think they did what they had to do to get out of there with a point. They really beared down in the d zone. I thought it was tremendous concentration to not let up so many A quality chances. Lots of B chances.
This team stinks. We have to remember that. What the hell is a coots or g to do when your short a forward not counting vinny, umberger, Rinaldo? Every single islander forward is better than those 3 - Just5
don't get the Rinaldo hate, he is one of the few that worked his ass off tonight. he is what he isd, a decent 4th liner who brings energy.
I am really disappointed in Read so far this year. expected so much more. Coming into the season I thought they were a borderline playoff team (6-7-8) but I am really questioning. they play well at times and terribly other times and i really think a large part of that is that they have to work so hard to win and they can't sustain that 60 mins for 82 games. i really want to see them get more speed and skill. Hexy has a lot of work ahead fixing this mix |

The defensemen on this team hold this team back. Forget jumbling the forwards or female doging and whining about Zac Rinaldo or the line combos.
Did you see how their blueline played and both forwards and d could support each other?
No (frank)ing way can this Flyers team play like that with this blue line.
Good thing we have so many guys on the blueline that can play the PK, because that game resembled being shorthanded for 60 minutes. |

The whole 11 man rotation just throws more chaos into what was already an unsteady forward mix imo. It's like Berube will do anything to not play Akeson...yet the Zomberger gets even more reward, being featured on the top PP, lol.
P.S. had to get my daily Akeson mention in there...keep hope alive! |

Agreed. The kid looks like he's got some good moves, and maybe Berube thought the element of being unknown would help him, but I was definitely surprised to see him go first...or at all. |

It's a (frank)ing joke. There's no other word for it.
Bill Clement literally just said the coach can take away ice time...Berube gives Umberger more and more. It's ridiculous. |

they're too easy to play against. and the 2nd/3rd line guys are nothing but dead weight offensively right now.
eliminating umberger and bunny will be addition by subtraction, even if they have to buy them out. |

Agreed, there was cohesion in the Islanders breakouts, rotations and cycles, but man, that's not on the defense entirely
The passing on this team is absolutely atrocious, and that's not all on the defense -- there are some truly tragic passers in the forward group

To be fair, more ice time for Umberger is type of punishment because he just looks so damn bad. And for longer. |

When the Islanders looked like they were gonna lose the zone, a defenseman was fast and savvy enough to make a play to maintain possession.
When the Flyers did have something going the other way, a forward was charging back to help.
All this Flyers team can do is fall back, which why they get pinned in their zone for chunks of time. |

they're a big part of the problem. but the forwards kill the play in the neutral zone - can't handle the puck. and when they do it get in the zone, there's not a ton of support, often because the rest of the unit is off for a change because they're exhausted from killing an ES penalty. the lone forward gets stripped and out it goes. lather. rinse. repeat. |
