That's when you need to start skating the puck out.
They get stationary, defenseman passes it to a wing along the wall, forechecker is all over him, before he can do much more than chip it out. The trouble is, when the forward is in motion, the defenseman is missing him altogether. - Jsaquella
All of what you said is true
The only two defensemen who are confident enough to skate the puck out are Del Zotto and Streit, and I noticed even Streit was backing off as the Isles started coming in waves
It would have been nice of Coburn would've wheeled it out a couple more times than he did -- I noticed him a couple of times, but then he stopped, too
I mean, (frank) it. Let's be real, here. They did well to not get ran out of the rink tonight -- Mason did everything a team could ask, and then some |

coburn can be very good in this aspect, especially when wheeling out from behind the net. we need more of that from him. he's more interested in trying to chip it out off the wall and turn it over. |

I am fine with them not playing Akeson -- you don't want to play the guy, then don't play the guy
But don't just have him sitting there doing nothing -- I remember Bob Clarke used to hate that poop when he was the GM. If you don't want to use a guy, Clarke would move you
He'd give you a chance somewhere else and just move the (frank) on
The Flyers don't have to play Akeson. But move the (frank) on and get somebody in here who the coach will play - AllInForFlyers
Agreed. Berube doesn't want to play him, fine. Either force the coach to play him, or give the coach a guy who he will play. It's that simple at this point.
That way, win or lose, it's on the coach. He wants to play RJ Umberger over 14 minutes a night and give him top PP unit work, then he can deal with the results and enjoy the search for a new job |

They did get run out of the rink. Steve Mason is the only reason they escaped with a point. |

The trouble is, they are capable of more. They have had good performances against good teams this season.
I'd be fine if they actually did suck. The trouble is, they're a talented, but inconsistent team that has holes. On any given night they can play anyone tough. - Jsaquella
I guess you give more credit to this roster than I do at this point. I feel bad for the weight that g and coots carry game in and game out for this club.
Ok G. You have to make sure we score all our goals
Ok coots. You have to make sure they don't score any goals, at all. Or else we are effed
Vinny coots laughton? Uh. Just dump it when u get it
Rinaldo, Bellemare, oh G again? Oh yeah. Same applies. Get out there and score 2x

I'm not denying the trouble spots an questionable coaching. I just know that I've seen this team play well against good teams. They didn't come close to playing well tonight. |

I just hope Hextall makes some F'N deal. He obviously is not happy if he chews his team out in the dressing room. He needs to do something to shake up his team!
I am guessing the only way they get rid of RJ Zombieburger is via buyout... Do it! Do something |

it was a good game because you won - vejim
Honestly, if we had lost that, I still would have been happy with the effort especially with Strait and Donovan in the lineup. Dehaan is a fantastic defender and Hickey is far more reliable than Strait. It's the few games we've had bad back checking and lazy efforts that I can't stand. |

I would keep half of his contract to just get rid of him for nothing. |

He's getting bought out this summer. Even if he's still on the cap with dead money in 4 years. It's moving this club ahead |
