It's like there is a tug of war going on with that post. The word "and" is the middle ground. Nicely done. - MJL

I feel that Amac is a #7 defenseman, and that the market dictates that #7 defensemen command the salary he is paid. |

On the topic of wasted Flyers draft choices, last night I saw Garret Klotz as a "team leader" with the expansion ECHL Indy Ice in Reading. 2007 3rd rounder for the Flyboys.
He is huge, and still an absolute moron.
You would think a guy who had his clock cleaned and had a seizure on ice as a Phantom would know better than to be running people from behind.
I was a few rows back from their bench and was merciless to him.
No cursing but I let him know he was a coward and a waste of a draft pick. |

He's just raw, he has all of the tools. Give him time.
Makes the Goulbourne pick look like a stroke of genius. |

Good news, stabilizing the lineup will go a long way towards putting people in the right spots, no matter if its which position and line or in the pressbox.
Somehow a 10 million dollar 4th line seems a bit of a waste, eh?

I currently live in Indy and I've gone to a few fuel games. He is so goofy, awkward, and useless its not even funny. |

He is 25-26 , his time is over after dropping from the AHL. He is not going to make it out of the "E", the only players like him that made it to the show were Jody Shelley who played in Johnstown and George Parros who played in Reading.

Yyyyyyeah...that was a bit of sarcasm.
Actually, him making it "back" to the ECHL is a minor miracle. He's been playing in even lower-level leagues recently. |

Considering you start your whole retort by calling my view "fallacy", I'm not even going to bother with much of my time responding.. Also considering I was speaking mostly of work ethic, and not offensive production on the stat sheet. Maybe you need to watch a few games again and tell me again how he didn't get b***h-owned in the crease whenever he got close... or how many times he skated so hard after pucks.. or how he wasn't constantly punished physically by smaller built players...
And how can you say for sure Schenn wouldn't be a dynamic D-man? He was what, 22 at the time? Stuck in Toronto for the entirety of his baby career... I don't blame them for making the deal... it just ended up benefiting Toronto way more than it has Philly at this point... it is what it is.. But maybe if JvR showed that WORK ETHIC he magically gained when going to Toronto, when he was in Philly, he'd still be in orange and black today. - WarriorHockey21
I wasnt singling you out there.. There are many people who felt that way. Many people said he was a bust, or would never live up to his potential, etc. etc.
The biggest problem is that people see size and immediately correlate that with strength and physicality. On top of that the org. made the John LeClair connection, but truthfully, they share ZERO similarities (aside from size and nationality). Fans hate Jeff Carter because of the same stuff.
As for Schenn, he never had a chance to be dynamic. He was big slow and only showed elite talent in the hitting department. He was a routine healthy scratch in Toronto. I was pissed the day I heard that. Schenn is a 90's d-man dream... If it were only the 90's. |

Sorry I cant read the sarcasm sometimes.
I guess he was in the SPHL and the CHL perhaps?
He needs career counselling as he is one stupid hit away from being banned for life or having someone retaliate with a career ending knee shot. Too big for his own good and not respectful of the responsibility that comes with it

Goulbourne is actually a solid defensive player with speed and a bit of skill. As a 5th or 6th round pick, Goulbourne would be a fine selection. Klotz was nothing more than a massive goon, and he wasn't even that good of a fighter. |

Yeah, he's been kicking around the CHL. The thing is, he's actually talented enough to stay in pro hockey in the REAL dregs if he wants to (the new Federal League and such). But I doubt teams would come asking for his services, he'd have to make it on a tryout. Maybe he and Boulerice could get together. |

"Okay, we've reconsidered. We'll give you Shea Weber for Matt Read, Braydon Coburn, and a 1st."
"Sounds good. Will you be taking Lecavalier or Umberger."
"Neither. Just those 3."
