What's 70% of a team like that? 4 or 5 million maybe? - Pecafan Fan
I remember hearing it cost around that much total, and that was prior to the equipment contracts |

Wrong he had two great 3 goals season with Gomaise, Plekanec and Koivu.
Was sent down to Hamilton, came back up with Desharnais put up 14 goals in 37 games so on and so forth - Fredobface
look we know you're in love with Desharnais. but the PP is like weirdoh at a cock bar: it sucks. and the 2 forwards who have been dumped over the bench with the first wave all year without fail are DD and Pacioretty. you're not taking off Pacioretty because he's still scoring at ES at a regular pace. DD is not producing much on the PP or ES, so why not try a different centre? |

As a 20 and 21yo with Koivu and Plek.
And with Gomaise, he had 14 in 37 before a big retard broke his neck. Which is exactly a 30 goal season pace. (He was a call up from minors, so no he wouldn't have played that many games)
If a younger Pacioretty can get a 30goal pace with GOMAISE, shoudn't he be scoring 60 with the great almighty first line center DD? - l3ig_l2ecl
No, Desharnais. |

Win I win LottoMax I will purchase a CHL team and hire Dan to be the Head Coach.
French will be the GM and he will not have a scouting staff because he doesn't need one. |

that's the point. Montreal made sweeping changes. - DoubleDown
My point was, we did not have the same poopshow. They did not let things get that bad.
So we don't know how the fans would react.

They are the best duo by far at ES. DD is not always getting the points put his +/- shows it.
I think trying a new combination on the PP is worth it. I would not break them up at ES. |

things did not get that bad because the club stepped in before they got that bad. and one of the reasons for that is, when the team was a complete mess in the late 90s and 2000/2001, there were a lot of empty seats at the Molson Centre. fans weren't being hysterical and booing and throwing poop on the ice. they saif "(frank) you" and spent their $$ elsewhere. i remember getting tickets on gamedays in those years for $25 and there would be chunks of 10-15 seats completely empty. |

The big hole is this argument is that most times number 1 lines do not go head to head. |

It really is amazing in a salary cap world, where there is a minimum and maximum, how a mid revenue team like Edmonton can be this terrible for 5-6 years in a row.

I'm pretty sure DD was in a line with Pouliot and Helpern and Paches split with plek and Gomez.
I actually just watched game highlights that prove my point. |

Yeah Plekanec gets that assignement most of the time. The Pac line is often agaisnt the other team's second line. |

it's a perfect storm: terrible drafting (how many of their own 2-3-4-5 round picks are on the roster, or impact players?), unattractive market and an owner who keeps Kevin Lowe in charge of the whole thing. telling you man... i guarantee you they're putting out feelers to John Muckler to replace Eakins. |
