Oilers need help everywhere. Please trade your first round selection this year. Please keep McDavid and Eichel out of Edmonton. Please get a competent GM that knows how to build a team. Get players that can keep pucks out of your own net instead of stockpiling players that can (supposedly) put the puck in the net. Get help on the back end instead of this hodgepodge of underwhelming players.

You have the pieces, go get leadership and a winning attitude. And if your GM cant do it, go get a new GM too.

Quite frankly I dont care much for the Oilers, but I am sick of seeing them stockpile top talent and ruin their confidence.

On one hand, I agree with you.

On the other hand, we can give up more value and still make our team better. In fact, it's impossible for our team to get worse in the standings after making a trade.

Then there's the factor that people see the oilers as grossly incompetent, and there's been a perception that since we're "mishandling" our players they're going to be rough diamonds as soon as they get to a new team. That might ensure their value isn't so closely tied to their current production.

Dustin Schwartz to replace...Oil Kings have had some decent tenders latetly.

I'd say you're right. He is the GM and if this team wasn't assemble properly with obvious needs it's on him I'd think. Do you guys think you'll actually get a "top line center" for Perron? I'm not asking that in a douchey way it just seems lopsided to me. What would be your expected return?

I don't know what it is. But just because you don't win a deal on paper doesn't mean the team won't get better. You honestly think they should just do nothing? What in god's name leads you to believe that this team will pan out?

Even if we just traded Perron, Purcell or Pouliot for a player of equivalent talent but who played centre, and even added in a 3rd as a sweetener, we'd be better than we are right now.
