Would hurt. But I think I do it.
Yandle would help so much. Pp. Breakout. Mean. - Iggysbff
Would also be more palatable if it was Hanzal instead of Vermette.
4 or 5 years younger, and 600k less on the cap and signed until '17-'18 I would definitely do the deal if it was Yandle/Hanzal.
The problem is that I think other teams would offer more for that combo... pretty much every team in the league could use those guys.

I'd be interested in Tyutin and Anisimov.
Columbus is a team that also needs to make a change, or at least, may be building for next year. They are a team that could certainly be into adding some firepower.
Further while these guys are essentially a #3 dman and a 3rd line centre for them, I believe they'd make a bigger impact on our team. While on the other hand, some scorers we have could arguably be better off in a more high profile role on Columbus' roster.
I dunno what the cost would be, but I think we've got pieces that fit each team's needs. |

What did he say? - The-O-G
In a nutshell he said to many individual efforts instead of using your head. I think he was calling out Hall. Hall tries too much some times but he's still our best player. I agree in part with Perron but if the other players gave halls effort it would also be different. The reason he's trying moves 1 on 3 is because there is no one else with him. |

Yeah, I don't see PHX trading Hanzal and Yandle for those 2. |

don't do it, stand pat. guarantee trading Eberle and co. for 60 cents on the dollar will backfire. - TheJerseyDevil1
Also how can it backfire? They are going to get worse? It's literally impossible. |
|
|
|
Everyone always talks about Eberle going the other way. If it has to be that way fine, just get equal value in return and move on. |

If its Hanzal for sure its different. If its Vermette I try Klefbom instead. |

Trade away Yakupov and Eberle.
Keep Hall and RNH.
...
- Skinnyjimmy08
I agree with the split, but I also wonder consider trading Hall if the price was good.
You would have to really want to do the deal to give up RNH, just because of the rarity of real #1C

So we finally have a player show some emotion and start calling out other players and coaching, a player who plays gritty and basically exactly what this team needs. Oh wait, we're trying to trade him now? I'm sure it's just a coencidence that it's coming right after he started calling people out. (frank) me this team is beyond pathetic. Hasn't change been coming for past 5 years or so?
I wouldn't trade Perron... sure he hasn't been good this year, but who has?.. This team is a mess. I am not a Oil fan but thought that when they traded for him last year, it was a brilliant move and I thought he was Oils most effective player last season. He's the exact type of player they need. Here are a few ideas...
Fire Lowe ASAP
Fire Eakins and hire Bylsma
Trade away Yakupov and Eberle.
Keep Hall and RNH.
Trade for some damn veterans to teach the kids how to win.
Trade for Chris Stewart so he can crash and bang and make room for the skilled guys and put up points
Build a time machine and send Draisaitl back to WHL and not expose him to this mess and let him develop.. hes not NHL ready!!
Somehow find a real good fit partner for Schultz because I still think he is real special and will put up a ton of points
I realize Oilers are in a horrible situation cause other GM's know how desperately they need to make trades and will make the Oilers pay HUGE to trade. So they may have to just bite the bullet and just not get what they hope for in return. I am very curious to see what they do and I am still real shocked they haven't done anything yet. - Skinnyjimmy08
You will get sick of Stewart after 5 games, but then he'll get all passionate about a random game, have a good fight, everyone will love him again, and then a couple games later you'll wonder why he's on your team. It's a vicious cycle. |

Is Hall really untouchable at this point, or can he be acquired in the right deal? With Shattenkirk's emergence this year, I'd be on board with a Pietrangelo + Berglund + prospect for Hall + Schultz swap. The cap hits work, but is the swap of talent good enough? No doubt Petro stabilizes the EDM back line, but is Berglund good enough to slot in at 2C? |

last time i checked Hall was far and away the best player in that trade. i think if you ask most people who know how good hall is they don't think that deal is that great for edmonton. |

Ya I mean that's the type of player he is, he's not really a "makes others around him better type". That being said he plays in the show, and has the talent to be a little more creative.
Kudos to Perron though, someone has to say something. I'm really surprised someone hasn't stepped up to the plate and ripped some of the guys. |

It's also that as a still young guy with a lot of expectations on him, he feels like he needs to provide an extraordinary, above and beyond kind of spark. Especially when we get behind.
I feel like that's on coaching a bit. When we get down, we lean on the top line heavily and arguably their shifts are less effective. I think we've got other lines that are good enough to get things going. |

As close to it as they come. Anything is possible but he's the best player on the team and comparable value means we're talking about maybe 20 players in the NHL. |

Need defence first, then a proven starting goaltender. Don't worry about any forwards until those spots are fixed. Every good team starts from the back out. |
