Lehner is meh to me. He's pretty much like Reimer, except he plays for a team that people like more. Better than what we got though and a good waiver for the future.

Methot is going to be expensive as poop. I always worry about re-signing pending UFAs but if we were doing the whole. One of these days, we'll have to trade 1-2 of Marincin, Nurse and Klefbom, so I don't mind him going out there.

Good job keeping it essentially cap neutral.

I like the idea of lehner. young, tons of potential, has shown some real promise at this level already.
I think hes the type of goalie were gonna need to go after. true 1's just dont often get moved.
lehner, enroth, neuvirth, Anderson, Gibson
these are the types of unprovens I think we need to chase and hope one turns into ben bishop.
And based on comparable moves, don't cost an arm and a leg.
Of course we're the oilers though, so some will suggest we should pay far more than the standard. Dont forget, It's the only way we'll get better

You make some good points so let me address each:

1. Outsiders peddling the same tired solutions that they hear from Dreger ET AL.
But these tired solutions haven't been tried yet. The same people have been driving this boat for years now with no improvement in sight. An organization can keep on firing fringe managers, positional coaches, and team trainers with no evidence of improvement. Maybe it's time to listen to these 'outsiders'.

2. And that oiler fans have any actual say in the teams makeup. We don't.
I think you're wrong here. fans do have a say. If 12,000 fans showed up to a Saturday night game the owner would start to listen. But the sheep keep coming to the games so why change a thing.

3. the haters shouldnt waste their times trying to convince us
We are not haters. We all remember the great oiler days. There's been nothing like it since. Who doesn't want that again. I think people are generally concerned and want to provide their thoughts and maybe a solution. The last time I checked hockey discussion was acceptable on this site.
