correct, but from what i remember the bruins were actively seeking to trade seguin due to some off ice stuff, which i think was completely blown out of proportion. seguin is dynamite and i believe his value is equal to hall's right now, back then i think with the off the ice stuff and having not played as the 1C yet, his value was slightly less than halls.

Top-50? He's probably a top-10 (if not better) overall defenseman. Stats do not do his play justice. Did you see that dude in the Olympics? Best skater in the tournament.

OEL's play has dropped off a bit since the beginning of last year. Not sure what the deal is, but he has definitely not been elite.

Oh, I think the removal of Kesler and the implementation of Willie has been a great success for Vancouver. I think Edmonton is trying to do things to be safe and not have setbacks, but are also hesitant to do the required moves at the same time.

Vancouver wins in the long run for that trade. Especially with Bonino's playing

No, I totally got the point. But the mantra of "team getting the best player in the deal wins the trade" is probably right maybe 75% of the time, not always. That was my point. Also, I like how Hall is now a top-10 player. Players off the top of my head I'd take over Hall (here we go):
