Right...but much like Yakupov, that's a lot of "potential" you're trading for, and double with Myers when it's a player whose stats have declined every year since his Calder year. He COULD become a #1 elite player, but that's as likely as him becoming a #6 stay-at-home player. He realistically is a solid #2/great #3 defenseman. Not sure that's worth more than a pair of 2nd rounders and good prospect.
Edit: Really, outside of Buffalo, he's viewed as "a nice player." Nothing more. - jmatchett383

Well you need to score more than 11 and so far 3 in 20 games in back to back years. Right now based in yaks current game, hes not worth more than a 3rd. The only thing that makes him worth a 2nd is his draft position but that is slowly becoming irrelevant. - rangerdanger94

You are so dumb. He is 6'8 and one of the best skating dman in the league. he is only 24 and playing almost 25 mins a game. On team with offensive weapons like Edmonton he would put up ton of points. With dman going for ton right now. He is worth your house and kids. - hanleyaj

I wouldnt go that far. He is playing a bad team and the team has no leadership. Also it is hard for Russians to transition to north american game. He will be good player and consistently put up 25 goals a year. - hanleyaj

I think the oilers should see if they could pry vinny from the flyers. And I mean get him to waive his no trade clause. He is a good 2/3 line center and will fill the gap till the oilers young center is ready to take over. 4 mil cap hit isn't that bad for what he can produce playing his normal position. Besides the flyers prolly wouldn't want much for him |

What you dont realize is that dman are going for a fortune Look at leddy and Boychuk. He is head and shoulders better then them. His stats have not really declined. Look at the numbers again. Have they gone down well so has the team. Playoff team to well worst scoring team in nhl history. How can you aspect him to put up points with this offense. |

Wow u are dumb. He has talent and size is huge bonus. Being on worst team just shows that his stats a down because his team has no offense. Also contract is not terrible with kane and toews getting over 10mil and salary going up he will be bargin in year or two. - hanleyaj

If mact could swing yaks + something not named nurse/klefbom. (I'd still strongly consider klefbom in there)
For both Brayden, I feel like that would be a coup for the oil |

Myers is better than leddy and boychuk?
You mean the 2 players that have helped stabilize one of the consistently bad defenses in the league and launch a basement dweller into the division lead? |

I don't think there's a huge drop from Leddy to Myers (I'd prefer Leddy) and look at what NYI gave up for him. Not much. Even Boychuk fetched some 2nd rounders, and I don't think Myers has shown that he's far (note that word) better than Boychuk. Like I said, a pair of 2nd and a good prospect is realistic. Like it or not, that's how he's seen in 29 cities. |

His excuse for What? He is one player. He is not an Elite Defenceman by any means but to say he's crap because he isn't a Pronger, Doughty or Weber is Ridiculous. He a #2-3 Dman. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Hes a 3/4 and oilers need a 1/2 that simple |

Taylor Hall it is.
And of course you'd feel that way, because it's a terrible trade for the Flyers (assuming the + is not one of Hall/Eberle/RNH/Nurse). |

Fair enough
I still think yaks should have some real value as I believe he can be a true snipe in the right situation if he refines his shot.
And I also think Schenn is a decent but not spectacular piece.
But I'd agree that the deal is lopsided today |

leddy and boychuk are not the reason they are doing good. They good 3/4 dman. Leddy was 6/7 dman on chicago. Better goalie, descent defense and great offense is reason why they are doing good. They are top five in goals for and playing in the east that is why they are doing good. |
