Here's the problem though, you're not going to get as much for them as you hope.

I don't think Yak any more gets you a top D....if he keeps going this season along current pt trajectory, that puts him 2 seasons removed from his best season, 12 or so goals/season doesn't get you a top D alone.

Eberle is borderline, he declined a little bit last season and his projection this season looks like another decline(pts).

YOu also have to figure in the fact that teams know Edmonton has to make some sort of trade so the GM is not exactly working from a position of power.

Well the way I see it we are out of the running for playoffs anyway- (frank) it may as well roll the dice on Mcdavid odds- trim the fat where necessary- ESP if Eakins lasts the next 5 games after losses... We are not in a position of power- but then again we are not in a position of weakness either as we dont have to do a damn thing...

it feels like you guys need a shock in the locker room, trading eberle would be a big message to the rest of the team to wake up. Something has to give there, there's just not enough talent in net and on d to play a defensively lax game. I don't know how you change that without making some drastic moves. Have said before, I like the Oilers and don't think you guys deserve this, having been through it, it sucks.

Yak has been victimized by the coaching. He has made wonderful strides this year for his all around game.

No trading of Eberle is allowed. I have his jersey and i want it to be relevant.

There should be 3 things they focus on this season.

1. Get a real #1 goalie
2. Trade whoever to get a solid #1 stay at home defenseman.
3. Finish last and get McDavid

LD has size so he can play in a bottom 6 roll, contribute and not get pushed around. Yak and RNH don't really have the skill set for bottom 6 but shouldn't have been thrown into the top 6 at 18 years old.

Really hard to make the jump at 18 especially when you are smaller, regardless of your talent.

You are pretty much on point.

The needs are: 1D, 2C and 1G.

Even if we draft one of McEichel, we need to have a veteran 2C to prevent LD or McEichel from being rushed.

The 1D is the biggest need.
